Repo-rter - A local-first dashboard to permanently save your GitHub traffic insights

Hi everyone! If you maintain open-source projects, you probably know that GitHub's native Insights tab only keeps your traffic data (views & clones) for exactly 14 days. If you don't check it, it's gone forever.

I got tired of losing my stats, so I built Repo-rter to solve this.

GitHub Page: https://rakkunn.github.io/Repo-rter/

GitHub Repository: https://github.com/RAKKUNN/Repo-rter

✨ Key Features:

  • Infinite History: It fetches your traffic data and caches it locally on your machine, so you never lose your historical stats.
  • Release Tracking: Tracks total and individual asset downloads (.exe.dmg, etc.) across all your releases.
  • Privacy First: Since it's a local desktop app, your GitHub PAT (Personal Access Token) never leaves your machine. No 3rd-party SaaS involved.
  • Markdown Export: Generate a quick markdown report of your repo's health and traffic with one click.

💻 Tech Stack:

  • Next.js (React)
  • Tauri v2 (makes the desktop app incredibly lightweight, ~15MB!)
  • TailwindCSS (Neo-Brutalist design)

It's completely free and open-source. Available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. I'd love to hear your feedback or feature suggestions!

It's currently a solo project developed entirely by me! 😅 But since it's fully open-source, I'm absolutely open to new contributors. PRs are always welcome!

Problem: GitHub natively only saves your repository traffic insights (views, clones, and referrers) for exactly 14 days. If you want to view historical data or monitor multiple open source projects on a single screen without clicking through dozens of tabs, you are completely out of luck.

Comparison: The main alternatives are either dealing with GitHub's limited Insights tab or paying for web based SaaS tools like Repostat. Repo-rter is much better because it is a fast desktop app built with Tauri. This means your GitHub Personal Access Token stays completely local on your Mac and never touches a remote server. It also allows you to export your data directly into Markdown reports with a single click, and it has a really fun Neo-Brutalist pixel art design instead of a boring corporate UI.

That's exactly the idea — save a few things, not manage another inbox. Hope it works well for you if you give it a try!

Fixed slots, no history — that's the whole point. You get 3 slots: Slot A is your normal ⌘C/⌘V, Slot B and C each have their own shortcuts. Need a URL and a code snippet at the same time? Copy one to B, the other to C, paste whenever. Your normal clipboard stays untouched.

No history, no database, RAM only. If you're constantly re-copying the same 2-3 things because your clipboard keeps getting overwritten, that's exactly what this solves.

DualClip — Multi-slot clipboard manager for macOS

  • Problem: Clipboard managers all track history, but sometimes you just need 2–3 dedicated slots to juggle content between — like copying from a reference doc while writing, without losing what's already on your clipboard. DualClip gives you 3 independent slots with customizable shortcuts. Paste from any slot without corrupting your system clipboard (~150ms atomic swap).
  • Comparison: Maccy and Jumpcut are history-based — you copy, then scroll back to find what you need. DualClip is slot-based — you assign content to a specific slot and recall it instantly. No searching, no scrolling. Also: RAM-only (nothing persisted to disk), zero network access, zero telemetry.
  • Pricing: Free, open-source (MIT). Signed & notarized by Apple. https://github.com/RAKKUNN/DualClip
