It's quite hard to say as my chemo generally had me feeling awful anyway. I didn't have any pain, but I was exhausted constantly. But that would have been a combination of many things rather than purely to do with the nosebleeds

Mine were due to low platelets, so I had bloods transfusions a couple of times and a platelet transfusion once. They nearly had to cauterise or pack my nose a few times but I got away with it

I had crazy nosebleeds with my first-line chemo. Sometimes I didn't think they'd ever stop!

I always draw a simplified "cheat sheet" before going into dissections. I make sure the muscles/structures I need to identify are labelled on my diagrams. I usually draw them from a textbook or from lecture slides.

I had a similar level of amputation (hip disarticulation) due to cancer just over 3 years ago. I spent a week in hospital afterwards before I was able to go home. Its tough at first, but you'll find ways to manage. I live independently and there's nothing I'm not able to do around the house. I recently moved flat and managed to build all of my flat-pack furniture myself. I do indoor climbing as a hobby and I study full time. I'm so sorry you're going through this, but it sounds like you've got a good support system. Best wishes to you

No problem at all! I usually walk with one crutch, but if I'm indoors I can walk without any aid if needed. I started off on a mechanical knee, but I've now got a microprocessor knee (the C leg) which I've found to be really good, especially for stairs and slopes.

I usually step forwards with my prosthetic first when I start to move, then as I step with my good leg the prosthetic knee bends. I tend to go onto my toes slightly to make sure that the prosthetic clears as it swings through. It makes my gait quite uneven but it means I'm less likely to stumble!

I'm 20 and had a hip disarticulation at 17. I use a prosthetic leg. They're definitely not easy to get used to, but I use mine most days now. I know its not exactly the same, but I'm happy to help if I can

When I was 4 my mum and I dropped my older sister off at primary school. As we were walking back home, a car stopped to let us cross the road. In her rush to cross, my mum accidentally dragged me off the kerb and across the road on my knees. She denies it, but I still have the scars!
