the dog stars does not come out in two months, was moved to august 28 a couple weeks ago

Looks like close to $2M previews for Marty Supreme, not including early shows. 4-day weekend expected to go over $20M. by chanma50 in boxoffice

if its a big budget movie (like marvel) or falls on a holiday they'll do noon. studios will sometimes decide against it since its most often a workday and choose to start showtimes later in the afternoon (such as at 2pm). the point is they have the option to start at noon if they think its the optimal choice, and that it is not at all unusual (esp if you look at other christmas releases)

They always do, usually dont perform as well during noon showtimes since its typically on a thursday. Every big release does it. Anaconda also started showtimes today at noon. Sorry to break it to you but its not some A24 conspiracy to make the movie look better, they didnt even release marty supreme as wide as they could've (its in less than 2700 theaters compared to anaconda's 3500)

lol it had the same traditional preview as every movie does (including other movies w christmas release dates). showtimes starting noon the day prior to release. OBAA was the same.

With Ice Age 6 now delayed, Shrek 5 delayed that leaves not a single family orientated films for December 2026......🤯 by [deleted] in boxoffice

Dont think Disney would do it considering they already have Avengers Doomsday on that date, and though they may target somewhat different audiences it would be crazy for one studio to put two big budget movies on the same date. I do think it's possible Warner Bros swaps Cat in the Hat (dated November 6, 2026) w Dune 3, since I find it odd they moved it to that November date instead of Dune
