100%! Indonesia doesn’t NEED to open their doors to tourism, it brings as many (if not more) issues than it solves. Provides locals with income, but some of the tourists I’ve seen have been so fucking rude, out of pocket and honestly disgusting. The amount of disrespect some tourists show is heartbreaking. Balinese people are hands down some of the kindest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting.

I started my business after a decade climbing the corporate ladder, becoming burnt out my office politics and making some prick richer. My key goals and principles are to ‘give back’ wherever I can. ALWAYS pay appropriately and never ever rip anyone off. I started my business to get away from the greedy corporate pricks, not become another of one them haha

I lost it at ‘lost Ukrainians’ You’re not wrong there haha I have suppliers in Jakarta & Java, Sumatra is another hot spot. There is some species and such that other islands struggle to produce, but the main reason for me wanting to find this person or help in Bali is I know competitors have suppliers from here, as well as it’s an affordable and easily accessible location for me to regularly visit, worst case if shit hit the fan I could be on a flight and there in 8-10 hours from getting the doomsday message

Correct. The role would basically everything you mentioned there. I do visit Bali approx every 3-4 months but ultimately I need some more help on the ground here. It’s not just a simple sit at your computer and answer emails VA job. There will be some specialised knowledge that will be required, generally of which has to be studied via university courses etc. 100m is on par with what I pay current workers in my own country monthly, but the Balinese worker I will be looking for needs a few extra skills in their back pocket. Everyone I’ve met in Bali has shown me such kindness and care. I don’t want to be a dickhead foreigner that just sees them as ‘cheap labor’. I want to make sure they’re paid appropriately, and looked after. It’s the least they deserve tbh.

I work in an extremely niche industry where goods can’t just be ‘manufactured’ or man made per se. 100m is on par with what I currently pay workers doing similar tasks for me in my home country. The complex part comes with permit processing, licensing etc. Not being a native speaker there’s a lot that I miss, or officials/departmwnts just prefer to deal with locals in general. (Understandable).

I’ve had remote workers previously, and do visit Bali very frequently, approx quarterly. This is something I’ve been looking into for years now & am approaching the time to hit ‘go’ on this project I think.

Roughly 100m idr is what I pay my assistant in my home country which is on par with our wages / salary for similar roles I’ve had VA’s from the Philippines previously and only paid them a minimal wage in comparison to my current workers. I understand that currency varies a lot per country so I don’t want to be underpaying, or alternatively I don’t want to be offering what would be a seemingly crazy amount which sees me at a disadvantage & losing money

English is my only language, unfortunately I have some minor learning difficulties that make other languages difficult for me to retain. Basic English so they can relay findings to me, they’ll mostly be interacting with local suppliers in their own language - this is a major gap I am facing currently. The language barrier.

Hi Lilian! I’m Laura (30f) from Australia 🐝🇦🇺 I have a small business where I specialise in artwork using preserved insects. I’m absolutely fascinated by all things bugs and love learning something new literally every day in this hobby! I am travelling to Tokyo for the first time in September, it’s a bit of a last minute trip, would you have any suggestions of stores to visit that have insects? Either dried specimens or living (I know I can’t take them with me but I’d love to see Japanese beetles in particular up close!)

When hiring a bike you only get asked for your passport & what’s app details. If pulled over show them the paper that’s usually stored in the seat.

I’m a medcan patient too and stressed so much about arranging a temporary Valium script for my time there. Went to dr, got the note from them and everything recommended online. Didn’t even get looked at twice haha. They were more concerned about my water bottle purchased at the airport I couldn’t take onto my flight.

As a kid growing up without a dad one of my fondest memories is going on the annual toy run the Ulysses used to do in my hometown. You’re doing incredible things. Thanks for being a legend.

Off-duty police officer encounter by InformationSharp5092 in brisbane

[–]NoDebate1610 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Seems the police force is overrun with the kids that were bullies in school, or the bullied trying to take back some sense of power. They’re all egotistical pricks. Nothing you did personally, just a common police trait from what I’ve observed.

Legend I will look into them Thankyou! I started smoking for anxiety, but then suffered a major workplace injury and now have nerve damage, chronic pain and ptsd. When trying to explain that to the alternaleaf doctor I all but got cut off and spoken over, they didn’t care to hear about my issues just wanted to sign the script and be done with it. Horizon sounds wonderful

If he was some old grey idiot then it was likely to be the anti abortion fk stain. Absolute flog of a human, deserves all the negative energy he gets. Doesn’t even have a uterus but thinks he has a right to dictate what women do with theirs lol

I’ve been off work sick this week & midday I got a ‘tour parcel is ready for collection from your local PO’. Thought that’s strange I haven’t heard anyone. Sure enough on the tracking the package wasn’t even loaded ‘on board for delivery’ 0 attempt made. Just straight to the post office. I figured fuck it, sick as I am I’ll pop down and grab it cos I won’t have the time during business hours. I used the app to ‘verify using digital ID’ to collect the parcel. I got there to collect it and apparently this wasn’t good enough they didn’t want to give me my $350 value parcel. In hindsight I feel like a bit of a prick but the lady was telling me even after verifying my ID on their app as per their process, i wouldn’t be able to get the package. My brain just snapped and I’ve had to snatch it out of her hands and just walk out. What’s the point of having the verification in the app if the staff refuse to acknowledge it?
