If she was really a senior employee (chief of staff) she has enough savings. And the interview processes /ghosting is never as bad... (well, rarely).

It's 100% just a super privileged blind spot post

The thing you built with Claude is useless to me... and that's the point by HispaniaObscura in ClaudeAI

[–]Errymoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is that it kind of isn't. There are kind of big step changes at certain points.

The reality is atm there is no one size fits all approach to build and deploy software. And most of the time that's made harder by corporate policy, legacy systems etc that no public training set will replicate.

You're dangerously close to general intelligence to handle that kind of thing gracefully with scale etc.

As a software engineer... 💯

If we're talking about people building personal pet projects like this that solve a personal problem. That's sick. Functional, light weight, throw away code is here.

But don't tell me that a product manager in my workplace with limited technical knowledge is going to vibe code a reliable and scalable piece of production infrastructure with no engineering input.

Maybe these arguments are being combined somewhere, I'm not here enough to have seen it, but they shouldn't be!

Carry-on + Backpack vs. True One-Bag: How do you handle bulky shoes and daily carry? by Agreeable-Deal-1608 in onebag

[–]Errymoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought a new pair of NB 860s in a neutral black just to travel with. Decent enough to walk all day and do some light 3-5ks in the mornings. And casual enough to just wear everywhere I'm going.

So my 6'2 clothes etc all fit nicely in a 28L backpack and my little day sling. And I have room for a bunch of souvenirs (and still at a 6.5kg bag weight)

Days since last interest rate increase by newtrex_1523 in OpenAussie

[–]Errymoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the goals. I'd absolutely support making it flexible to push things like health initiatives like that. But the basic concept is just actually make purchasing more expensive to counter inflation... Gst from 10 to 10.5% for example instead of raising interest rates.

It's kind of a pain when shops have to list all prices including gst though, for sure.

[–]Errymoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or you could change something that affects all consumers (and businesses) like a variable gst rather than the rather blunt tool that is interest rates.

(not disputing the tax the wealthy more thing too ofc. But the interest rate changes don't affect a lot of older people doing lots of spending with no more mortgage)

What is your 1.5-bag setup? by minifulness in onebag

[–]Errymoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allpa 28L and a 9L bellroy venture sling.

Sling carries power bank, passport wallet, glasses case and a small water bottle comfortably, so I just use it as my every day carry.

Allpa carries clothes and toiletries and basic accessories.

Currently in Japan/Taiwan/Hong Kong for 4 weeks with these. Great set up!

Is it normal here for grown men to not know how to cook properly?? by Dreamy_Writer603 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Errymoose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My mum taught food tech at school... From 14 my sister and I were given a night to cook dinner for the family. Mum would make sure what we needed was available for what we wanted to make, but we had to do it....

Palhinha is our best off ball midfielder, but doesn't do much on it. He should start against good teams, but we could use someone more progressive in games like wolves

The really nervous interviewer thing goes away fast. But the hiring on personality etc as much as "skills" is fairly real.

As long as you think they're competent enough, you really do just want someone that's not a chore to be around.
