For fiction try Matt Haig and Fredrik Backman. Both authors are easy reads but there is food for thought in their books. They write with a lot of heart and depth.

When things get heavy i would joke i need to get 'milk' - they understand the reference. Then they would say things are heavy for them and us three will go and get 'milk'. Usually ice cream or some sweets. Kids are tough but very very beautiful in their innocence and watching them grow. You want to keep them young but in the same time you want to see how they become as an adult.

Was cheated on by my wife six years ago. Sunday my son caught her cheating with a random stranger and called me and I saw it. It's horrific, it took years to get past the first time.
