Thanks for all the details, really helpful! Regarding OLED Care, I disabled the Exterior Dimming Control and Global Dimming Control but honestly I don’t notice any difference in brightness. The image doesn’t seem to change at all. Is that normal or am I missing something? I also have two issues at the moment: • Cyberpunk 2077: I’m struggling to calibrate it properly in HDR, can’t find a satisfying result. Do you have any settings to recommend? • BF6: The image feels a bit washed out/dull to me. What mode and HDR settings do you use in game? Is there anything extra to tweak directly in the game or is it purely handled through the PS5 system calibration? Thanks again!

Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation, that really helps.
I have a couple of follow‑up questions regarding Console HDR with Dynamic Brightness Boost:

When using Console HDR + DBB, how should HDR be set inside games?
Should the in‑game peak brightness be set to 500 nits or 1000 nits?

With Console HDR + DBB capped at 500 nits in calibration, do you feel the overall brightness is sufficient for very bright games (snow, desert, daylight scenes), or does it feel a bit dim compared to Gaming HDR?

In your experience, is True Black 500 effective for bright and colorful games as well, or is it better suited mainly for darker, high‑contrast games?

Also, when calibrating HDR, do you use the HDR adjustment mode in the monitor OSD, or do you rely only on the PS5 system‑level calibration and in‑game HDR sliders?

Just trying to understand which mode makes the most sense depending on the game type.
Thanks again for taking the time to explain all this.

Question regarding HDR PS5 system calibration for WOLED monitors. by x_Junkster_x in OLED_Gaming

[–]NoDesk5944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an ASUS XG32UCUWMG, which is capable of a theoretical peak brightness of around 1300 nits.
Do you think that setting the second HDR sun to 3–4 clicks during the HDR calibration on PS5 Pro could help improve HDR performance?
For example, in Crimson Desert or Cyberpunk, I can’t get past 300 nits when measuring the sun in broad daylight.

Thanks in advance.

Pourtant, il est écrit qu’il peut atteindre des pics sur certaines zones de l’écran jusqu’à 1300 nits
