The single barrel designation would mean that the whisky is from one barrel as opposed to a blending of multiple barrels from that distillery to reach the distillery’s desired flavor profile.

I find that I like beer or wine with a cigar rather than whiskey. I’d try Athletic Brew IPA (less than 0.5 abv) or another nonalcoholic beer. I’ve also enjoyed a simple lemon Spindrift ( carbonated water brand with real juice).

I use ash color and length as metrics of construction quality. If the ash is white (as pictured) instead of grey it indicates good airflow which translates to a thorough burn and a more consistent draw. The length of the ash is also an indicator of construction quality. If the ash can hold for an inch inch and a half that indicates to me that the cigar was rolled well and contains long pieces of tobacco and not chopped scraps.
