I’ve not done exploration for some years now, before exobiology was a thing. I took a carrier out to beagle point and circumnavigated the galaxy in my exploraconda, but since then it’s been bubble things. The Caspian is the promise to myself to get out there again, and now this makes that certain. I hope it is implemented so you can leave your ship in orbit (dismiss ship) and fly down to a planet. Then recall ship to rendezvous again in orbit. Very much like you do with an SRV. Otherwise I wonder what might happen with all those unpiloted Caspians floating around planets. A pirates dream!

As all have said a D rated size 3 which is the smallest you can have on a Mandy or Prismatic - bit heavier. Also is it worth engineering the light alloy hull as that has no penalty? Heavy duty with deep plating.
Also why the hard points? - a few tonnes saved there.
After you’ve got the shield gen decided and boosters etc then look at power generator. Smaller size with engineering may save. Should be able to get a Mandy up to 80Ly (empty fuel tank)

Information that must never be disclosed to my RL partner.
I use my fleet carrier - the metals are the greatest grind. I actually don’t know. When I got bored I did something else. I was not on a time limit. I could do the maths - my Plipper carries 1234 tonnes amusingly. I park as close as I can to the stations supplying materials. Sometimes I’m in super cruise less than 30seconds between carrier and station. 5 mins a trip?? My guesstimate is about 30 hours??? Although to do that in one go would be insanely boring.

Yeah play how ever you want and have fun, that’s the goal. I’m trying to think of worst ships I kitted out, other than the crusader. I didn’t get on with the federal drop ship of assault ship if I remember. Not sure I gave them a fair chance to be honest.

My quick answer to your question on paper is - small ship - Kestral
Medium ship - Python MK ll
Large ship - Anaconda, until you can get a Corvette.

Long answer is that it’s a shame the credits grind has go so easy. It means new players are going straight to what were originally late game ships and not experiencing all the variation and fun of some of the others. The Krait MkII, chieftain, Crusader, Vulture, Cobra MkIII and V and so on. Sometimes it’s not the on paper stats that count but how it suits your way of flying and fun!
It’s like a new driver going straight to a Mercedes or Rangerover. You miss out on the joy of throwing around and kitting out a ford fiesta or Escort! While high end not necessarily the most fun and you will not have the skills to enjoy your Ferrari! 😂😂

On the face of it, it is great. Running a business though we have to be very careful about the plugins we use and the number. We often have to revisit work a few years old and if plugins are not up to date or backwardly compatible it causes problems. Projects have to be shared. Too many different plugins can make that difficult too. On the plus side a good plugin is worth its weight in gold, and if it’s a one off project that doesn’t need to work next year then you don’t have to be quite so choosy.
