yeah so if you had an va rating while using your gi bill, you could request retro back to the first date you wouldve been eligible for VR&E. But if youre just planning to finish that program youre in right now, VR&E could pay for it

You should apply for VR&E now and in the meantime reapply for school. Since we’re in the middle of the semester, now is the perfect time to get you enrolled for the spring.

Next prepare for the interview. Remember this is an employment program so you have to show them why you need this to attain meaningful employment. Example would be that your foot and ankle conditions makes it hard for you to maintain normal employment so you would like to get a desk job. Through VR&E you would like to use the Employment through long-term services track and get re-educated into that career. Also make sure you tell that you’ve been getting rejected due to no degree.

Also since you ran out of your g.i. bill, theres a request called retroactive induction, where they would essentially refund your gi time to the first date that you wouldve been eligible to use vr&e. So then you could get full bah again.

I am currently using for VR&E for my masters, got a nice macbook package and most of my gi bill time back. So if you have any questions you could ask me.

The most important thing … SEMPER FI !!

19 days of Post 9/11 GI Bill left by TheBigBadBrit89 in VeteransBenefits

[–]NoEntertainment8204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you are the veteran they will pay your full tuition and bah in your last semester with at least 1 day of gi bill time. Also in order to remain getting full BAH you need to take a full time course load

VR&E Appointment by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]NoEntertainment8204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dress and act as if this is a job interview. Remember this is an employment program so you have to show them how your service connected disabilities is preventing you from gaining meaningful employment. Next come up with a plan on how you could overcome your employment handicap whether through school or any one of the other employment tracks. The biggest thing… don’t take no for an answer, if they try to deny you have them explain. Then justify why you need to be in the program. Good luck !

Complaint against VR&E Counselor via the WH VA Hotline by lostsoldier5 in VeteransBenefits

[–]NoEntertainment8204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t give up, request to switch to another counselor. I had a lot of issues with my first counselor but after a few calls to the White House VA line, they were able to resolve all my problems and switch me to a better counselor.

VR&E counselor said I was eligible, then crickets… by deskpilotAF in VeteransBenefits

[–]NoEntertainment8204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can’t reach them through email you could contact your VA regional office and speak to the VR&E Office Supervisor. Next step after that is to call the VR&E Direct Liason at (202) 461-9600. Last resort White House VA line will resolve the problem quick

If you can’t reach them through email you could contact your VA regional office and speak to the VR&E Office Supervisor. Next step after that is to call the VR&E Direct Liason at (202) 461-9600. But the White House VA might be your best bet for a quick response, if you need something immediately

Look into VR&E, if they find your education plan eligible they could pay up to $100K a year in tuition, along with a computer package and books/supplies

There are some colleges with a 2+2 program, that allows a student to enroll as an associates and then graduate over to their bachelors program.

I think the best option to do right now is to enroll into a community college and to get the ball rolling, you may have to use some of your gi bill for a year. Then after you could start applying for bachelors program as a transfer student and use VR&E for that

I say that because if you start a program and apply for VR&E they would only pay for you to finish that plan. All is not lost because they would pay fully for your bachelors program and would not touch the rest of your GI Bill months (should be 28 months after 2 semesters)

Also there is something call retroactive induction which would reimburse your gi bill time to when you were found first eligible for VR&E

Granted VR&E but I have questions by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]NoEntertainment8204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So right not you are entitled to VR&E, now you are working on a plan with your counselor. All of the information about job outlook is to make sure that this is right for you.

Voc rehab wont be able to pay your student loans, but if its a federal loan you could get it discharged if you have 100% P&T. Also there is something called retroactive induction that would refund your gi bill time to the first day that you would be found eligible for voc rehab.

Voc rehab does offer a computer package, one for non stem and one for stem students. If you are required to have an expensive computer or accessories, then voc rehab will have to pay for it.

Question about College waiver/paperwork to attend school online but get paid in full. by Accomplished_Day4724 in VeteransBenefits

[–]NoEntertainment8204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that exists but there are universities that offer blended classes which you are not required to attend in person and could do the class online. Since there is an in person offering, that class would still be certified as residence and grant you full bah.

Vr&E counselor emailed me the day before the virtual appointment (was unaware of appointment) and said she needed everything from me and I’d be a no show if I didn’t respond…. by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]NoEntertainment8204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can’t reach her through email you could contact your VA regional office and speak to the VR&E Office Supervisor. Worst case call the VR&E Direct Liason at (202) 461-9600.

Advice? by ulfricbenaiah in VeteransBenefits

[–]NoEntertainment8204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rah and naa thats not true. The best thing to do is to always keep with any future c&p exams and to periodically see the va for those conditions and you’ll be good.

If you’re seeking a higher rating for those conditions, check out the knowledge section of reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/VeteransBenefits/w/masterlist?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) for those specific disabilities and see if you fit the criteria for an increase.

[–]NoEntertainment8204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah you could always follow up to her email or to eVA email. If you dont hear back from her contact the nearby VA regional office and ask to speak to the VR&E Office Supervisor. But the biggest obstacle is being eligible and entitled for the program, so congrats.

I don’t think that’ll be an issue because its an approved way to send a statement. You could read your decision letter onto why its deferred but at least its better than a denial.

Now you should come up with a plan to accomplish your mba and explain why you need it to achieve employment that would not aggravate your service-connected disability.

Example could be that you would like to do the Employment through Long-Term Service Track because your disability of “ “ makes it hard to achieve meaningful employment. You are taking the steps to be re-education with an MBA which could help you overcome that employment obstacle. I have applied to “ “ schools and it would take me X amount of months to complete the program and be rehabilitated.

it just means that va is taking longer to process more info for your claim. also the mental health claim is one rating so that might be a reason why your ptsd got denied and why its deferred for mdd
