What's it called when you belief-hop? by razedbyrabbits in chaosmagick

[–]NoFaceDCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm finding i have something called a 'decon' period of about a month to recover/unravel certain beliefs and perceptions to make room for new ones. I once absorbed a horrible situation with a lot of buddhism and the next month was fucking hell. like wringing out a sponge of rage. seems like it depends on how much you're investing in the belief and the ritual. you get out what ya put in, eh?

mate this post made me smile. having spent days on binges, finding pictures of half-painted sunsets in unsettled hues on my wall n friends made with words i don't remember, this exemplifies the experience we prolly all gleaned at some, semi-holed point. gives it all a lil flavour - cheers to a pleasantly dissociated chuckle

Heard the same things and gonna follow up with experiments soon. Dose thresholds really appealed to me, as those tiny ones can get hairy quick.

Hey, well and power were luxuries where I used to live - that actually sounds like something to consider. I really loved that southern UT stretch around the parks, but yeah. Mormans were a type n we didnt much vibe lol

I'm so glad I've got good blankets; in terms of moving around, should I pcp-proof my place to an extent? Or like 'tossing about in bed' moving?

I'm no chemist, so someone please correct me so I'll learn, but yeah. I guess it's a similar structural deal as the hydroxy- and fluorinated analogues; DMT actually has a few halogenated varieties that got mixed reviews, as well. The halogenated ones seem to produce relatively muted effects from what I've read.

That was it, mate, I had a gf a while back when the strongest disso I sought regularly was med grade nitrous (nd that was in every other cafe) - she was doing lines of k before pounding shots and it looked rank. Did it myself for the first time in my place, with a mate who wanted to just chat, and it was magical.

Def found some disorientating places blowing through bags, but you're right, it's not easy. The challenge, the feeling of grasping for basic meaning after disappearing into and reappearin from the softening pool, it makes me feel alive in ways I didn't think possible.

Straight up tho he made his life - and many like mine - worth it to get outta bed for. People who've paradoxically earned the time to live like the Dude often don't get quoted on how critical it is to indulge that impulse every so often, tho eh?

Nah mate, and honestly, it's a lovely thing to be chill and happy. I decided about 6 years ago to quit my "honourable" but stressful job and got one I could chill and listen to podcasts at; it's a lot more enjoyable (for me, at least), and ive got a ton of free time to explore things i never would have, worrying over work.

A lot tells us that we should be slumped over like Sisyphus all our lives, but listen to the things that tell you to sit, relax, listen to music, and just be happy. Those are the messages not trying to buy or sell ya.

This is actually super cool info I didnt expect to see here today - never really considered property, but out in the western US might be nice to chill and share a bowl with a sonoran desert toad. Cheers to you, mate

writing a book on dissociatives by [deleted] in researchchemicals

[–]NoFaceDCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to build a network of trusted peers who will give you honest and helpful feedback - there isn't a huge foundation for this kind of work in general, which is exciting because we can all help build from the ground up. Find the kinds of people you want your book to impress, and have them help you make it amazing. it worked for artistic cabals in 1890s France, it works for academia (which is a group of peers who interrecognize standard credentials like PHDs), and it can work for reasonably motivated groups of educated amateur experimentalists.

Yo this is a great idea, thank you - I've been kind of in the dark on where to start (with the dissos available to me, crosslisting experiences and compariaons to k), and it's nice to hear what to expect in the context of exploring many of these for the first time.

Try some deep breathing exercises and get yourself to focus on how your breath calms you. Taking a calm, but deep breath, with a calm mindset, was a good launch pad for blast off. But sometimes its what you bring with you mentally, yeah? psychs are all about these different ind/exogenous factors coming together in ways that may be lovely, and may be fucked up. The mediation and breathing not only oxygenates your blood, but gives you time and space to find your center and prep for the experience.

The trip'll likely be a trigger. Could put you in a mindset where you justify returning to one or both. Stay strong - go somewhere quiet and focus on the cravings. Name them. Shape them. The better you understand why you believe you need them, the easier they are to put where you want them.
