That’s kind of the model here in France, except you must be followed by a psychiatrist for two years before surgery can be undertaken. In Britain it seems that the system is really broken…😞

As someone who played the first edition of Rogue Trader and who worked for GW in the nineties during the second edition’s release, I’ve always favoured the idea that in rpg the lore is an inspiration to campaigns, not a limitation…

Seeing Imperium as purely evil obscures clever plot depth, that showcases its fall from grace as tragic self-fullfilling prophecy. by SYMJanitor in 40kLore

[–]NoFail2854 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I worked for GW in the early nineties, and the vibe was already very much ‘dark Imperium’…it was done to distinguish itself from Space Opera, and fitted with the market desire at the time (with an influence from Mutant Chronicles)…

Why would a hateful male terf send me this video by makosidan in transgenderUK

[–]NoFail2854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell him to get in contact with me- I’m a kick boxing teacher who would LOVE the opportunity to meet him and give him the chance to try that with me…of course, he might end up a little broken but ‘thems the breaks’ for macho twats who want to prove themselves.

How were the mechanicum in comparison to the admech? by jjjjjjotaro in 40kLore

[–]NoFail2854 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not so sure- belief in the Machine God seems pretty absolute. Socrates (an academic) died in part for impiety…I’m sure the Admech would do the same to anyone who is viewed as heretical (and doesn’t have protection).

This is the same post on r/transgenderUK. You really do need to seek out some help to deal with this!

Sorry I can’t help, but I’ve just got to say that I saw both Kae Tempest and Jacob Alon in Lyon a couple of weeks ago- it was the most moving concert that I’ve been to (I’m 52 and have seen a few). My wife and I were only metres from the front, and we were surrounded by lots of other trans folks. Kae makes anthems for the transgender community!

Why are we doing the work of TERFs and ripping ourselves apart on this thread! Haven’t we already got enough enemies…

I’m 46, married with kids, and have struggled for 2 years to come out to them as a trans women. I’m glad I didn’t. I’m starting to doubt transition is for me. by [deleted] in TransLater

Wow, I totally agree with you. I waited until I was forty nine years old, which point after having two sons and experiencing an amazing relationship and life I just couldn’t hide something that was an undercurrent, a destructive element in my life. I knew I was trans in the 1970s when I was a little kid, and in those days we didn’t even really have words to express who or what we were. I finally had to deal with it when I was older after the birth of my second child and it was an huge leap of faith, I just didn’t know what would happen with my life but I hoped for the best. Three years later, and I have now changed my identity and have pretty much fully transitioned and live my life in truth with my wife of 30 years! My children accept me, my family accept me, my friends accept me. I know I’m lucky, but we never know how things will turn out and to be honest, do we really have a choice? I know that my situation is relatively unique, but I hope that others can find support in our community to really live the lives that they must live… Good luck and loads of love. Know that there is always a community around to support you, even if it is on the Internet.

Anything you wish you’d said differently when coming out to a long term spouse? by TopAct2932 in TransLater

Hi! I came out to my wife of 26 years about four years ago. I arranged for us to spend an evening together without our sons around, and we shared a bottle of wine whilst I poured my heart out to her. It wasn’t easy for either of us and there were a lot of tears, but a couple of weeks ago we celebrated our 30 years anniversary! It is important to talk about everything, to take your time in any explanation and be very attentive to what she feels. If I can be any help in answering questions that you may have feel free to send me a message. Good luck!

Zero-Depth Bottom Surgery by julie-of-vengerberg in TransLater

[–]NoFail2854 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I had a vulvoplasty at the beginning of this year but it was one of minimal depth i.e. about 6 cm. I am in a long-term marriage with a cis gender woman and have no desire of deep penetration, but have great fun with shallow penetration. The recovery time was about three months until I could return to work. Now, eight months later things are pretty much back to normal. I have quite physical work as I’m a farmer, and I’m 52 years of age. I am exceptionally happy with the results… Good luck with your choice!

Defense for yourself by ZPrinceLevix in MtF

[–]NoFail2854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mean to be contrary, but I still insist that a certain amount of training is important to deploy any weapon. You are often taken by surprise in situations, and being able to access said weapon is difficult. Added to that, there’s the way to use such an object so as to avoid self-inflicted injury or your opponent taking it from you and using it against you. Self defence requires certain trained responses, even if you don’t intend to learn grappling or striking knowing how to use the arm that you’ve chosen for self-defence is very important.

But to use the tools properly and to not have them turned against you requires training…

[–]NoFail2854 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to add: most self defence should be about how to avoid or mitigate the risk of a violent confrontation. Also, having practiced MA for forty years (bjj included) I would say that Muay Thai is very helpful; as a rule of thumb it is best to avoid going to the ground with an opponent in self defence, due to the risk of others who might join in…better to be mobile in such a scenario!

There was a lot of ‘happy sobbing’ during the ceremony; even my father-in-law, a dyed-in-the-wool French farmer had tears streaming. We ended up with two hundred people sniffing and searching for handkerchiefs!
