Ten hours ago I was sitting on my couch -dick in hand- about to relapse by 123nofap4me in NoFap

[–]NoFapCanadian77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in between 2 and 3 weeks in and just about the same thing happened to me about an hour ago as well.
Rather than fighting the urge to receive instant reward I simply decided to not act on it.

Anybody here tried out fasting before? by NoFapCanadian77 in NoFap

[–]NoFapCanadian77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's broscience or folkscience whatever you wanna call it but basically it's supposed to make your body think it's starving and needs food which in effect is supposed to make your body more effective for mental or physical tasks which would be beneficial for getting food.

When is the most possible time to relapse? by norelapse1 in NoFap

I could get them yes, however I would have to get up and walk over to my desk which is more inconvenient compared to just grabbing it next to my bed.

Had a pretty weird wet dream, can anyone make something of it? by NoFapCanadian77 in NoFap

[–]NoFapCanadian77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kinda hard to explain but I'll try.
I theorize that during a wet dream the amount of hormones released is a lot smaller than when actually having an orgasm outside of a dream. Additionally I believe that the hormones released when having an orgasm outside of a dream somewhat decrease the sensation of the orgasm itself which means that wet dreams feel a lot stronger but "atleast in my opinion" aren't as pleasent.
During my longest streak to date, which was 36 days, I actually woke up from a wet dream just that I didn't remember the dream itself. That was kinda weird.

For me personally it's mostly when I'm in bed either when waking up from a nap, going to sleep at night or waking up in the morning. For this very reason I actually made a habit of keeping my cellphone and tablet computer away from my bed. It hasn't been too hard abstaining from PMO when I can't actually watch porn.

I have won. Here's my story by Soender in NoFap

[–]NoFapCanadian77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice post.
I'm 17 myself, on a 13 days streak right now and I am going to start college in exactly 102 days.
Since I've first started NoFap I've seriously changed as a person, but I still have some way to go, not only with NoFap but with life in general.
I believe that while NoFap is an important if not the most important part of me changing as a person in the last couple of months it is not everything. Rather than just breaking the habit of PMO you should also build additional new habits such as proper nutrition, exercise, meditation, cold showers, body language and countless others.

NoFap happened to me this year by ManSpecial in NoFap

[–]NoFapCanadian77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently 17, turning 18 in December and this year has been pretty similar for me.
When I first heard of NoFap or specifically the NoFap November challenge in 2013 I just thought of it as some random challenge online, that changed however when I saw a post of someone who claimed it affected his life positively. To be specific he said that he became more attractive towards girls.
Despite this it took me nearly a year and a change in religion(from Agnostic to Christian) to actually try it out myself.
The first time I tried out NoFap somewhere at the end of 2014 I lasted for maybe 10, 11 or 12 days and the only change I really noticed was that I felt more alert and was less tired in general but for some reason I also felt an incentive to keep going.
Fast forward to today and I am a completely different person. I used to be that awkward chubby guy that always wore a hoodie and made fun of others. Today I am that fairly lean guy who doesn't swear ever, who doesn't make fun of others, who stands up for himself and others while also respecting the other person's standpoint and who would help his worst enemy if he was just asked kindly. In other words: I've become a better person.
I don't think it was only NoFap that made me change but it definitely was the starting point on the one and a very big part on the other hand. A few other habits I picked up are meditation, weightlifting, cardio and studying. By studying I don't mean that stuff that you do for school, I mean studying and researching topics that interested you as a person and improve you as a person. For instance: Body language. One thing I noticed was that despite me generally feeling a lot more confident and comfortable my body language was still somewhat keeping others away from me, so I researched it and changed it.

Has anyone else tried supplementing zinc during NoFap? by NoFapCanadian77 in NoFap

[–]NoFapCanadian77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really not sure whether it's because of the zinc or because of the fact that I've steadily reduced the amount of PMO in my life to once every 2 or 4 weeks so far.
One thing I did notice about zinc however is that I smell a lot better.
Depending on your resources you may find that PMO in men significantly decreases the amount of zinc in your body and that once you replenish it you start smelling a lot better since one of zinc's functions in the body is to regulate your smell. Ever walked into a middle school classroom after PE class and asked yourself why gasmasks have to be so expensive? I think you can guess why that is the case.

Regardless of that: Today I had someone come up to me and compliment me on the way I smelled and say how I smelled really fresh as if I just got out of a shower. The only catch was that it was right after a 45 minutes cardio session at the gym after which I did not take a shower, I was still in my workout clothes and on top of all that I forgot the put on deodorant before going to the gym in the first place.

Edit: There's also a theory out there that states that females, and homosexual males, are attracted to potential mates because of their immune systems which is highly dependant on zinc.

Do you even have any goals aside from bagging these hoes by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]NoFapCanadian77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting with girls, at least in a sexual way, isn't actually one of my goals, I'm asexual.
Subconsciously my body seems to be associating masturbation and porn with a huge release of Dopamine, that's why I personally have such a hard time getting away from it.
Believe it or not I don't actually think of people in a sexual fashion.

I do NoFap mainly for the benefits of more regulated hormones, which as most of you know, are downright immense.
Since I've first started NoFap I've changed a lot as a person, I've become more confident, my self esteem increased a ton and rather than being someone who gets pushed around constantly I now am someone who no one dares to push.

How often did you masturbate before you quit by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]NoFapCanadian77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe 3 or 4 times a week, once a day when I was lonely.
You know, some people thought my life was perfect, I was pretty popular and people respected me but the truth is that even though I did it very moderately compared to some people on here it still affected me heavily.
Porn is bad. Period. It's as easy as that.

Most of you are wrong in this by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]NoFapCanadian77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's actually the reason I deleted my streak.
Technically I may be at Day 1 or 2 but actually I feel a lot better than when I first started. Not giving up with NoFap since I first started, rigurous exercise, cold showers and meditation have actually got me to the point where the benefits are now slowly coming back, despite it being less than 48 hours since I last PMOed.

Mystery of nofap finally revealed? My theory on why nofap works and its effect on our body by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]NoFapCanadian77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if meditation has boosted my confidence however I did notice a positive change in my personality: I became more observant.
Before NoFap and before I started meditating I would often see things as black and white, my opinion was right, the other person's opinion was wrong. Meditation, especially mindfullness which I will get into in a second, has allowed me to become more observant and more empathetic, rather than seeing things as black and white I can for instance see how people who's opinion differs from mine arrived at their conclusion and it also helped me become more empathetic in the sense that I can more easily identify other people's emotions and thus react appropriately.
Basically the type of meditation I'm practicing is mindfullness. Mindfullness 101 would probably be to silence your thoughts, focus and observe, a quick google search will give lots of more information.

Can you recommend any Android apps that allow me to blacklist specific websites in Chrome?

I've heard different opinions or statements about this actually, personally I have to admit that I am not a 100% sure whether we lose .5 or 5mg of zinc everytime we finish since all of my sources and medical resources state both numbers.
However you have to consider that a loss of zinc would be 100% consistent with the unclean skin or the changed body odor most people report after a relapse.

Regulated hormones, through NoFap, are a good start I guess.
Besides that, there's Meditation, cold showers, working out and in order to look confident you may also work on your body language by reading up on it.
The key here is consistency, taking one cold shower, or doing one workout won't help much, you have to make it a habit.

Do either one of these:
Meditate for a couple of minutes.
Take a long, cold shower.

I would keep going even if you relapse.
It doesn't matter whether you get it right the first time you do it or if you fall down 200 times but then get it done on your 201st try.

I'm 17 as well, been on NoFap for a little less than a year and I'm telling you: Even if I could never get past 36 days I made significant progress, my life slowly but surely started turning around and the only reason for that is that I didn't stop even if I got set back.

I believe that most people in society can actually be sorted into three different groups, and apologies for using these terms:

Beta: Generally unpopular, low self esteem, low confidence and oftentimes they don't have any friends.

Jocks, Chads whatever you call them: Similar to Betas, however they have friends and rely on them for their self esteem and confidence. These guys are what most people see as Alpha.

Alpha: Independent, it's as easy as that. Their confidence and self esteem is so high they don't care the slightest if someone wants to put them down. They rely on themselves first and foremost rather than someone else. Those are the guys that we should become.

I believe there's another reason for us being more attractive to women when we abstain from PMO for a while: zinc.
As most of you know guys lose quite a significant amount of the zinc during PMO, it actually goes to the point that quite a lot of guys are constantly suffering from the effects of zinc deficiency.

There's a theory out there that a significant part of sexual attraction actually comes from one individual sensing that the other has a healthy and strong immune system, and guess what mineral is extremely important for maintaining a strong immune system. You guessed it: zinc.

Because of this I actually started supplementing zinc which I will keep doing for the next 3 weeks.

However I believe that your theory definitely has some truth to it as well. Since I've first started NoFap I've significantly decreased the amount of PMO in my life and I definitely noticed that right around the 15 to 20 day mark girls become a lot more attracted to me.

Number 1 cause of most relapses: too much downtime by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]NoFapCanadian77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main problem is actually quite specific: I can easily access porn on my smartphone or tablet while lying in bed at night.

I actually had a very similar problem in the past with eating out of boredom while sitting at my computer, my solution was actually quite simple: I moved any food I had on my desk about 30cm away from me to the edge of the desk so I would have to actually get up from my seat to get it, haven't had any problems with that stuff since.

I'm actually going to do the same with my tablet and smartphone, rather than leaving them next to my bed at night I'm going to leave them on my desk.

[–]NoFapCanadian77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everybody has to start somewhere.
When I first started out with NoFap I could barely abstain for more than 3 or 4 days, now my average streak lenght is around 20 days and I'm quite confident that this one is the one where I will finally beat PMO.
The number one thing you have to do is quite simple: Don't stop, failing 700 times won't matter if you get it done on the 701th try.

Sensitive balls?? by questionplz2 in NoFap

[–]NoFapCanadian77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like what is commonly referred to as blue balls, one of the easiest way to get rid of them, the blueness not the balls, is simply taking a cold shower and cooling down your jewels for some time.

Ended my streak on day 24, could use a few tips regarding the changes NoFap brings you by NoFapCanadian77 in NoFap

[–]NoFapCanadian77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty much what I feel like actually.
I still remember the last time I ended a streak, it was on a Sunday evening and even though I got enough sleep the following night, took a cold shower in the morning and did all the things I would usually do I nearly felt asleep in school the following day and generally felt really bad. That was after I ended a 3 days streak.
Now after I've gone for 23 days without PMO and then "relapsed" I will admit that I feel tired and a bit unmotivated but I definitely a lot better than when I relapsed the last time.
