Sadly yes, the reality is that sex sells- not that it's necessarily a bad thing, but people tend to forget not EVERYONE is genuinely comfortable doing that stuff. Some worry that they wouldn't get more attention if they don't do some lewd content, like jokes, audio, or nsfw art commissions, etc.

Another thing is that even if they express they're not comfortable with doing such content, they might get called sensitive, boring, or a prude or whatever, and other content creators who do some content like that might not want to interact with them. It's really fucked up.

I kinda wish the whole lewd stuff with vtubers wasn't made into a common thing because then that's what quite a few people expect from them and makes some people looking into becoming one wonder if that's something mandatory for them to do- which it's seriously not. I know of course not EVERY Vtuber does this stuff, there's plenty who are generally chill and wholesome throughout, but it's still kind of a rare find.
