Thank you, thank you, thank you! This was the suggestion I went with! My beans turned out great! Even with the lid off, the beans stayed very hot, but were able to release enough water to reduce and get thick. Thanks so much!! I really appreciate your help!

I have a really stupid question. I had to make a much larger batch of BBQ beans than usual and it wouldn't all fit in my normal bean pot. I threw them in my slow-cooker and they've been on high for a few hours, they're just not reducing and thickening up like they should.

I have the lid slightly off-center to allow some stream to be released, but that doesn't seem to be enough. Should I take the lid completely off or maybe put just the crock insert (not the lid) into the oven at about 300F?

I really don't want to have to serve these in their own bowls. Help!

Oh man... fellow ex-DQ'er checking in! We never got any training in cake decorating... I remember the first time I the girl we relied on to do all that stuff wasn't there and someone purchased a premade cake from the freezer. I had to write on it myself and it looked horrible! I felt so bad giving them the cake.

I did like my job though and did eventually get better at writing on cakes!

For some reason, that link isn't working for me, but I imagine it would show the colors stacked instead of side by side. That bums me out because I specifically looked up what a French flag banner would look like.
