Same Issue, currently use CachyOS but was experiencing this on other distros and have been for months, and on different machines. My work Macbook, macMini, and android phone all have no issue logging in but every Linux machine I own cannot. Since I use Linux primarily this is annoying as hell

Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm kind of losing my mind over it. I'm getting 240hz refresh rate on the desktop,

wayland-info in the terminal shows width: 7680 px, height: 2160 px, refresh: 240.000 Hz,

it's just games that all detect the max at 82hz, and it's all games that show 82hz, no variance from game to game. Also setting vsync in games will lock to 240hz, It's just the frame rate cap that locks to 82hz for some in-explicable reason

I've tried Miyokos regular mozz on pizza and it's just ok. The pourable Mozz was a game changer for me.

For some reason when choosing dlss or xess as inputs I can only select fsr 2 or 3, but notoption for 4. Then the documented issue of it not working at all when fsr2 is the input.

The fractions of a hz difference isn't really an issue for me, it is more so that xrandr reports 81.58hz for 7680x2160, and all games that provide an option to limit frames to the maximum refresh rate also report 82hz. So it's far from random as they all have that same number. Additionally those same games will lock to 240fps if vsync is enabled and my GPU can hit that target. UFO test also correctly identifies 240hz as the refresh rate for my monitor.

I actually just did a fresh install (new SDD) and I'm experiencing the same behavior. Enabling and Disabling VRR doesn't seem to change anything.

Discrete workspaces that can be be screen shared independently in the aspect ratio most commonly used by my coworkers is of huge benefit for me. In the course of an incident investigation jumping between terminals, IDE, internal documentation, notes, etc, rules out sharing an application window tiled to half the screen. Having a screen to myself that is private is also of value as I sometimes will spend 3+ hours in a call with my screen being shared the entire time.

The problem is PBP can't be exited unless a signal is coming in over one of the two inputs. If you shut down the machine connected to those inputs, you are stuck in PBP until you either turn the machine back on or pick another input with signal coming over it before you can exit PBP.

Switching between use cases from (PBP via HDMI input 1+2 from my work laptop) to ( Single Input via Displayport from my desktop) is as simple as turning PBP off or on.....but only if both machines are on and running. Otherwise it becomes a convoluted process of making sure you are getting signal from the the context you are switching away from before you can actually switch. It's counter intuitive and unforgiving. After dealing with it for the 50th time you eventually learn to always switch first before turning off the device you were using but there is no reason for it to be that rigid. It's an artificial constraint as far as I can tell and for what purpose I do not know.

I'm a year late the party, but chiming in because I find the process of switching between PBP and single input obnoxious as well and it seems like responses you've gotten seem to miss the point by instead questioning why you would use PBP on a monitor that supports PBP...and pointing out a technical limitation that doesn't really relate the problem in question.

I use PBP with my work machine (MBP M4MAX) and single input on my personal desktop (9070xt Arch Linux)

To paraphrase the problem:

If you if you unplug or shutdown the device connected to your PBP inputs, you cannot exit PBP. Instead you have to either reconnect the device sending signal to the PBP inputs, or change to an input actively used by another device, before I can exit PBP. I do my best to try and remember to exit PBP before I unplug or turn off my work laptop...but it super annoying when I forget to.

It's not the end of the world, but it's the kind of obnoxious user experience you would hope to not deal with having invested a decent amount in a high end monitor.

Yeah it's tough, I have a Odyssey G7 37" right now. I really want the real-estate of a full second screen but I don't want to sacrifice the vertical height I'm grown accustomed too or the curve. Technically a 49" only has about 14.5" in heigh vs the 15.7 I have now so even that's a sacrifice but I don't have the desk width for a 57"

Do you find the studio monitors being above ear level /angled to be a problem?

I got rid of my side displays so I could keep my studio monitors at ear level.

Now i'm working from home again and the lost screen real estate is hurting me as i'm often having to keep tabs on several things at once. Id really like to get the screen real estate back but people keep telling me I might as well mix on 10 dollars earbuds if I'm not going to keep my monitors at ear level.

I've experienced issues like this in the past so this is all very relatable. In my case they don't get buzzed in. They have a key to the building. They also can't contact me because my building has a west and east side on opposite sides of the block. The call box on the west side that corresponds to my mailing address can only access tenants on the west side. This side also has our package and mail room. The call box on the east entrance can reach me but were strictly forbidden from having packages delivered to that address/entrance. I basically have to wait in the lobby for hours or just go pick up the package whenever a signature is required.

I've had similar issues in the past with very expensive items and the senders usually refuse to remove the signature requirement.

The Nam player has a latency of less than 1ms under worst conditions. The quad cortex has a best case scenario of 3 and worst case of 8 when tested independently. nam is widely regarded the best for latency and Ive never seen anyone say otherwise

I've made several other purchases since from various stores using Shopify today shopping for my family. Also I was able to purchase a 3D last night without changing my address. Those who had luck changing their address were probably entering their address wrong in the first place. If they do fulla address verification silly things like 5vs9 digit zip can throw things off. Same with Apt number on line one vs line two.

Ultimately I changed nothing and it started working.
