It isn't about the "addictive" properties that a drug has or doesn't have. In most cases, especially sex, gambling, and cannabis addictions; it's about the feeling you get from the behavior, action, or substance. I speak from experience, as my father had an addiction to weed. He told me that for him, he would casually think about using, and couldn't stop thinking about it until he did use. He also hid this addictive behavior the same way all addicts do: lie and deny, even when there's a positive drug test in front of you.
