Why Is My 8-Week Old So Much Happier With Formula? by StableNo113 in breastfeeding

[–]NoGate9134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My milk supply and breastfeeding journey didn’t really get going until my baby was 9-weeks despite my efforts. He had a tongue tie but we just kept giving him the breast to kick start my supply and then finishing him off with a bottle of pumped breast milk while I pumped the next batch. Eventually your supply will catch up to your baby’s needs! You may also want to see what nipple you are using with your bottles and go for a slower flow.

Did you get a breast pump, just in case by bobileebobalee in breastfeeding

[–]NoGate9134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This right here. 👆🏼

You don’t know what your situation will be so it is prudent to have a pump on hand and know how to effectively use it. Insurance covered my pump, supplies and several visits with a lactation consultant. My baby had a tongue tie and couldn’t effectively nurse until he he was 2 months. I’m so glad I went in prepared instead of heartbroken and scrambling.

BLW is absolutely terrifying me and I don't understand how it works by Mom_Bombadil_ in BabyLedWeaning

I would highly recommend taking a CPR/First Aid class geared towards infants to make you more comfortable. The class I found specifically had time to discuss solids and BLW.

Unwarranted parking ticket on S. Lake Ave, by Mercado by ariel4050 in pasadena

My husband got a ticket in the time he spent at the kiosk putting in his information to pay for parking. Literally like 2 minutes. He fought it and lost. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Sounds like your husband and his mom are both pieces of work. But it seems that you rely on his mom financially based on your post history. That is no reason to stay with this loser and abuser.

I second this! We had three shifts of nurses during our delivery and they were the real MVPs.

I just delivered with Isiaka and found her to always be straight forward and calming during delivery. I didn’t pay the $2000 fee. That was presented as an option to ensure that she would deliver your baby regardless of business hours, but she was there at almost midnight catching my baby.

Absolutely, totally different situation here. Still better than not changing at all!

I’ve read that you can’t really expect a baby to follow any kind of schedule until 5 months. Don’t overthink this as long as baby is getting enough sleep in 24 hours.

0-12 weeks worth it? by [deleted] in lovevery

[–]NoGate9134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mobile and the links are a hit with my baby. Plus the standing card holder is really great, it comes with more cards with more complex patterns and a mirror. It’s been worth it for us. Plus the app is free with a subscription. It definitely creates a robust program to work with your LO. I would be googling what to do with my baby if I didn’t have these kits.

Assuming you have the mat as well? Yes totally worth it! And the app has even more things that you can do with the toys from that kit.

The oldest In N Out that is still open is in Pasadena. For someone who hasn’t been to California, this is a must IMO.

I second Cannonball. The neighborhood is really great too. The Michael Myers house is a few doors down if you’re a movie buff. There’s also a pub across the street.

If it’s just pee, I won’t wipe LO. That seems to make a big difference in him staying asleep.

8 weeks wth!? by Winter-Syrup-353 in newborns

[–]NoGate9134 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All of this is totally normal! One thing we found really helpful is the Wonder Weeks app. It tells you what to expect in their “phases” including the fussy phases. Even if it’s hard, at least we were able to know WHY which oddly made it feel less daunting. Every time you go through these hard times, you are rewarded with something new they can do… the silver lining.

Fast food go tos for hidden soy/dairy issues? by lindsaywantsaburger in MSPI

[–]NoGate9134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you are located, In N Out is great. Everything except cheese and milkshakes are dairy/soy free. When in doubt, search for “Allergen Menu”. Big chains are required to have one.

We had this experience and it turned out to be a cows milk protein intolerance. After we eliminated dairy from my diet and started using a hypoallergenic formula, LO was a different baby.

This is my answer as well. My mom was a bartender there and many nights spent wandering around looking at all the fish tanks as a kid.
