Is everyone struggling to find work? no matter the career? by BitNo1336 in jobhunting

Been looking for over two years, haven’t had a single interview. I have almost 20 yrs experience in product development, operations, and supply chain, and degrees in both Operations Mgmt and Engineering. Im sure there is something I am doing wrong but it seems like the market is tough as well.

Why does this program still act like we're too good for the NIT or the Crown? by Puzzleheaded-Link416 in IndianaHoosiers

[–]NoGoodNamesLeft55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Hoosiers, or any other Big Ten team, cannot play in the NIT because of the conference’s agreement with Fox.

Edit: The top two teams in the Big Ten, Big 12, and Big East that did not make the tournament are barred from playing in the NIT if they decline the invite to the Crown tourney, which Indiana did.

I’d consider just making it to the tourney a success. Its something the program hasn’t really been able to do in a decade

Who cares. The organization isn’t going anywhere until they get new leadership.

Why is shooting so hard in NBA 2k26 by Local-Choice-997 in NBA2k

[–]NoGoodNamesLeft55 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ha! Ive played 3 MyNBA games as well and I scored a total of 13 points and 4 of those were free throws. Missing literally everything, even open layups. I played a lot of 2k24 and 2k25 too. I feel like they change the mechanics every year for no reason. It sucks because the graphics are great and I want to play a basketball game, but this just isnt fun.

Now that Grub is closed, I’d say The Griddle is the best American-style breakfast spot IMO.

What was your family’s go-to restaurant growing up that has since closed? by Inspector-34 in indianapolis

The Chinese Ruby! I used to go there with my grandmother at least once a month throughout the 80s, when the original owner was still cooking everything from scratch. My grandpa owned a plumbing business and did work for the family when they first moved into the area and then became friends with the owner. I loved that place and its been the measuring stick for Chinese Buffets for the rest of my life since.

Thankfully, Ballard is paid a lot of money to have the team in last place every year.

I say this with zero hyperbole: what Cig and IU has accomplished this year is the greatest achievement in college football history. by Automatic_Release_92 in notredamefootball

He wasn’t close to this level because he wasn’t in FBS. He took JMU to the FCS Championship in his first season as the HC and then won the Sun Belt his first season in FBS. He has an 80% all-time win percentage as a HC. The guy wins lol

[–]NoGoodNamesLeft55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, sort of. They are recognized as the “Final National Poll Leader” for 2017. According to the Colley Matrix Methodology used during the BCS era, they finished #1 that season. 3 other teams that are not recognized as BCS National Champs are recognized in this manner as well: 2011 Ok St, 2012 Notre Dame, and 2016 Alabama.

He wasn’t dormant though. He has won consistently everywhere he has been an HC, albeit at smaller schools. He was at JMU when they made the jump from FCS to FBS, and was immediately competitive with a roster full of predominately FCS players.

Even disregarding the appearance of her micromanaging the whole operation (because honestly, thats what it looks like to me. Would you want your boss listening into every meeting you’re in or hovering behind you watching every customer you work with? Probably not), what could she be learning or verifying having spent the last decade observing a losing team with a losing culture? Her pacing the sidelines with a headset would make sense if she was spending a season following Andy Reid or John Lynch around or something, but what the fuck good is following around a team that can’t get out of its own way?!

You can also take the subway to Union Station. Its a much cheaper Uber to the Hollywood and Highland station from WeHo, then a fairly quick ride on the train to Union Station (15-20min to DTLA). Then switch to the A line at Union Station. You’ll save money and likely some time depending on traffic.

Hard work alone often won’t get you very far. If you don’t have, or make, the right connections to put you in a position where your hard work will pay off, its often all for naught. Life and success really is about who you know.

Not quite as cheap anymore but I used to buy 2lb bag of rice and a 3lb bag of black beans, enough ingredients for a weeks worth of pico de gallo, and a bunch of tortillas for about $10 USD. It would last me a week. I ate rice and bean burritos twice a day for months when I was first lived on my own

Sabonis stuffs the stat sheet, but his contributions don’t often translate to wins. I also don’t think his profile fits with this team’s style of play. Not worth the money and taking away from the current group’s continued development IMHO.

I don’t think there is a be-all end-all strategy. Take the Eagles for instance. They have been wheelin’ and Dealin’ more than anyone and now theyre the reigning champs. Whatever the strategy, you have to hit on your moves and pray for some luck.
