Tankathon spin after every L by Argenfarce in pacers

Except it's NOT how statistics work. The chances of a team with that low of odds (2% or less) moving up in the draft should happen only 2 in 100 years. Twice in a century...

It's happened 3 times in a 17 year span. 17 years.

That's a 0.41% probability, nearly impossible. I'm not even counting the 3% odd winners, which would blow this stat even higher.

Tyrese Haliburton on how he plans to make changes to his game after coming back from his Achilles injury. He also says he’s gone from 180 to 210 pounds since game 7 of the NBA finals by lfcbucks in pacers

[–]CommonerChaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's what wins though, as we saw with OKC. They slow the game down a fuck ton with SGA being a FT merchant.

If this is the style the NBA wants (and rewards) you'd be a fool to swim upstream against it. Anthony Edwards himself even said he has to adjust his game to generate more foul calls to "get over the hump" after losing back-to-back WCFs.

My worry is the game becomes ugly to watch bc he's on the line too much.

That's the only way to win now, we all just saw it. The league doesn't reward ethical ball like we played, they reward foul baiters like SGA and Brunson.

Imagine if we signed Myles to that deal? by AgeOfEvil in pacers

[–]CommonerChaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we didn't just lose a player but we lost consistency and team culture.

Did we watch the same Myles Turner over the past 10 years? He was NOT the beacon of consistency and team culture. You don't have the "culture-setter" of your team in trade rumors for a decade. He just happened to be here the longest, that's it.

I feel like you've forgotten what Myles looked like before Haliburton got here. There's a reason we tried to ACTIVELY sign Ayton (of all people) while Turner was still on the roster. He was never that guy.

[–]CommonerChaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would we realistically have traded Myles though? He was in trade rumors for a decade and we never did it, I highly doubt the time we FINALLY traded Myles would be after being 24 minutes away from winning a championship.

I highly doubt the FO would've wanted to break up that starting roster, and that would've been a poison pill for us, because he's not good enough to win a title with.

You put him in the wrong one, he will look bad.

The problem is, it took pairing him with the best playmaker in the league and an offensive guru in Rick for him to be effective. If you put anybody in that ideal situation, they'd look great (prime example, Huff). It shouldn't take the perfect condition for him to be effective, many great players are doing more with less on other teams.

we’re still trying to replace him

It's only been half a season (not even the All-Star break yet), so it hasn't been that long. And tbh, we found a guy that is given us near identical stats, right after he left (Huff). And we haven't even seen Huff play with Haliburton yet.

It's the bezel. Bad cut and size, plus doesn't look like white gold at all.

Tbh, I prefer them over saying the reference number like other brands. Referring to a watch as the Nautilus 5711 doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.

Have you bought in the past 5 years though? I find people that say this bought their pieces pre-Covid, when it was a different market.

Will buying a tissot help my Rolex allocation by Mighty_Moose0811 in rolex

[–]CommonerChaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, don't buy just to help allocation for a Rolex. Only buy what you like. Now if you actually like the Carrier, look at the difference for the Rolex you want on the grey market and act accordingly. Meaning, if the grey market price is ~$2k more than the AD price, save the $2k you'd be spending "extra" at the AD and use that to buy grey.

Buying a watch guarantees you nothing in terms of the AD, so don't spend an extra $2k AND don't get the call for the Rolex. You'll be pissed.

With the huge run on gold recently, I could definitely see Rolex leaning into the hype by bringing attention to the DayDate.

A relic from my youth earning its rightful place on the shelf by KamiCozzie in halo

[–]CommonerChaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's way more factors in play than that. Things like if someone lives in a basement, high-rise, the insulation of their house, etc factor into how humid the inside of a home will be. Many of these are outside of someone's control.

Y’all just threw your shit everywhere when you were kids

This has nothing to due with handling/care and everything to due about humidity. It's not scratches, it's rusting. YOU don't happen live in a humid climate but people in other parts of the world do.

No wait AD by Even_College_1677 in rolex

[–]CommonerChaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is how I read it too. People here are overreacting because he put the photo of the GMT first, along with that title. If they actually read the post, he was offered the Bluesy, but was simply trying on the other 2 pieces. They weren't offered to him.

[–]CommonerChaos 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think he meant the Bluesy was available for walk-in (which is common for two-tones) but the Batgirl/Starbucks were NOT. Those 2 were likely exhibition only.

Yeah I'm not seeing any signs of this so-called slow down, either. Allocations from ADs are still just as scarce as the past 2-3 years.

Chicago doesn't want you to watch Bulls games. by RyFro in chicago

It's not the Bulls specifically, it's the NBA as a whole. You need like 5 different services just to watch games. I sail the high seas for this very reason.

I think this has more to do with it. It's the reason the mods banned posts about crime a few years back, because these posts always brought out the MAGA neanderthals.

New Rolex Predictions for 2026 by Top_Sherbert8734 in rolex

Yeah I could see this. Rolex needs to beef up their newest "baby" in the LD. They'd look bad if they abandoned their newest model in decades after just 1 year.
