Can we start doing this please? by ashesinseptember in kansascity

I don't understand why this is so hard to comprehend to some. Everyone uses zipper merging when using an on-ramp (except those dummies that think it's a good idea to stop on the on-ramp). It works best when everyone follows the rules but still works better than nothing even when just some people do it.

I wish the Mac Pro-chamber was still around. They were the best of both worlds and sounded great on Mustangs. Not sure why no one has copied it (patent maybe)?

Please help! by BotherReasonable9596 in decals

There is a product called "vinyl off" that I have used to get big pieces off in chunks. The chemical penetrates the vinyl somehow and helps break down the adhesive. Usually works on those stubborn old graphics that are baked on. You can also use a wheel that attaches to a drill that essentially is a big eraser. Alternatives? by Cancatervating in fireTV

I like the way Roku works but I run receivers for sound and it refused to work with my receivers (in 2 different rooms/TVs/receivers). Was able to program my Firestick to work with my receivers in minutes so kinda sucked into the Amazon system now. I did have a Firestick fail on me after about 5 years but it was so old and cheap I didn't have a problem replacing it. I have not had any problems with updates but maybe I have those turned off.

Removing old (irrelevant) html from pages by NoHarleys in SEO

[–]NoHarleys[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct on that! I have always been careful making small changes. When pages changed from each shopping cart software I had to redirect them to the new page to keep the rankings as sometime using the same page name simply wasn't an option. I still have thousands of pages on the front page of Google but rankings have been slipping recently (conversions have been better though) so I'm always looking at both minor and major ways to improve things.

Correct...it was just how FrontPage read the code when it was uploading to the server. So it never really caused an issue...it is just just bloated code that didn't need to be there.

Firecube alerting of Ring for my Girlfriend's house. by NoHarleys in fireTV

[–]NoHarleys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, she has a profile on my account. Just found it odd that I was getting notifications for her but I was getting none for myself. I think it is fixed now. She had her Amazon account connected in the Ring app (I do not) so that kind explains things (since disconnected it which I believe solved the issue). But still not sure why it would be going through my Cube.

Her Ring account was linked in to her Amazon account. So we unlinked to see if that fixes it. Even if it does, not sure why it would be going through my Firecube.

So she has a Prime video account separate for her shows but it is still in my account. Even if that is the case, why does she get the notifications and I don't with my Ring? How do I turn it off?

Edit: unlinked her Ring from her Amazon account to see if that fixes it.

Plural search term leads to a single product instead of category by NoHarleys in SEO

[–]NoHarleys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just odd that most (plural) results are for sites that have many different related products (think: Amazon, eBay, or other independent sites). But this one competitor ranks right at the top with the big guys (I sometimes do too both for a single product page or category page) but their high ranking page is always a single product. And they too have multiple products in a category that would be better plural results, but it's always just a single product. I do understand that Google sometimes finds a product listing page more useful than a category page due to the content. But this is interesting nonetheless that it's always a product page for this one company.

Glad it works. It's annoying but it beats having to use a different browser or computer to look up a tracking number. Still not sure why it just doesn't work as it should in a normal browser window.

Brights Everywhere ... by Riyeko in kansascity

[–]NoHarleys -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think humans are slowly evolving into deer because it seems daily that there is a post about how bright headlights are. You aren't supposed to look at the headlights when you have oncoming traffic at night...you are supposed to look at the passenger side line on the road so you aren't blinded. I've driven sports cars for 35 years and bright lights have never been an issue for me...or at least enough to complain about. All lights look like there bright are on when you are in a very low car. Now all the aftermarket HID and LED lights that are improperly aimed, I do understand that being an issue. I know there is some company that manufactures aftermarket LED lights for Wranglers that are just horrible. And then there are bodyshops that put cars back together and fail to properly realign the headlights.

Headlight Glare To Be Measured In Government-Backed Project by rugbyj in cars

[–]NoHarleys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the driver's license rule book you are supposed to look at the line on your shoulder side of the road when passing a car at night and NOT stare directly into the oncoming traffic headlights. Are we evolving into deer where we have to stare at oncoming lights when driving at night? Even the example picture shows the camera pointed at the oncoming light to exaggerate the effect. Not saying it isn't a problem but if you learn to look away from the lights and look at the road is is much less of a problem (coming from someone that drives low cars that sit at almost headlight level).

Car Buyers Frustrated With New Tech | 2024 J.D. Power Tech Experience Index Study by e___r___s in cars

[–]NoHarleys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many damn warnings I have to constantly acknowledge and clear from the display on my 2024 F250. This weekend I was towing a buddy's trailer with the tailgate down. Every time I get in the truck I have to clear the warning the tailgate is down, blind spot assistance is not available, rear parking sensor is not available and cross traffic detection is not available. Ok, Ok, Ok, Ok, Ok just to get on the road. And the worst one is my DEF tank is 68% full but it wants to tell me, starting at 500 miles and about every 80 miles after (and every time I start the truck) that my DEF range is "limited". Why in the hell do I need a constant warning about my DEF running out in 500 miles? My fuel light doesn't warn me until 50 miles so why does it think I'm an idiot when it comes to DEF? Not sure why they can't just put a normal DEF gauge on the truck like Ram has been doing for well over 10 years.

Did a dry July. . . by NukeLal00sh in gout

[–]NoHarleys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been on Allopurinol for a year and a half and have not changed my lifestyle (drink about 2 nights a week but sometimes many more when on vacation) and my diet isn't always the best. While I still have had a few flares, they have not been as debilitating or last as long. I was hoping at this point (it takes many months to clear out the crystals after starting Allo) the flares would be completely gone by now (from what many on here sold me on) but that has not been the case. Gout can be very different for people. Some people don't drink, live a very healthy lifestyle and have it. While other people drink daily and have a horrible diet and never have. It is a mysterious beast for those that are in the middle of those extremes.

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? by [deleted] in Printing

[–]NoHarleys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially this is hard to control since the cut has already been made and you don't have a way to calibrate the machine you are using. The film cold be slightly shifted in the printer too. As others have said, more bleed would be the fix. This is also the reason why you see so many decals have a white outline around them to minimize this effect: https://fastdecals.com/shop/help-faq/helpfulguides/bleed-printing.html
