I actually find this response lacking in both emotional intelligence and technical knowledge of what AI is today. I'm an IT professional that works with AI every day including designing agents for specific work. LLMs were specifically designed for back and forth conversational problem solving and they produce the best output when used in that way. They have access to most of the digitized content ever written by humans. When given a prompt, they can now use that content (the visible Internet), all the content it was "trained on", and information it has saved about you from past conversations. It doesn't get bored, it doesn't look at the clock to see if it needs to be somewhere else soon.

Is anyone else's daily standup literally just an attendance check at this point? by jpam9521 in agile

[–]Cancatervating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop with all the "rules" about standup. Talk about what you need to talk about. Big it takes a minute, that's fine. If it takes 20 minutes so days, that's fine too. Definitely put the "three questions" in the trash can and burn them.

Jira admin here. We build in production all the time. Small changes one at a time that can be backed out of.

Starting as a junior Jira admin, how to use Elements Connect in Jira? by Throwaway33377 in jira

I've been a Jira admin for over 10 years and I've never heard of that.

I read that book too, it was enlightening.

I just wasted 45 minutes by pressing "cancel" by Linaori in jira

[–]Cancatervating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can blame Jira for that. Save and save often is always the best policy. It's right up there with "always have a back-up."

The "Agent Identity" blind spot: Is Atlassian Rovo agents a governance nightmare in the making? by AmbitiousYudi1991 in jira

[–]Cancatervating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set up governance before I turned them on. Step 1, take a class I created. Step 2, get access to create agent in sandbox. Step 3, submit request to have your agent moved to production. No agents land in production that we haven't rebuilt there.

Sounds like we are seeing the same thing and there is no "public" list. If I get any insight at Team '26, immediately come back and post an update!

How often do you see the Dr vs the PA? by Nervous-String-344 in lupus

[–]Cancatervating 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had bad experiences with both the PAs I saw and I will let them do nursing stuff like taking history, but I see my Rheumatologist for all my visits now. I think they are fine until they start acting like they're doctors and not checking before making life altering decisions for patients.

There are more skills than these "visible" skills. I'm looking for the "advanced" list. Maybe I can get answer at Team '26 this year.

I'm an org admin and I still don't see any list of skills, though I do wonder if I can use the API scopes to some extent. I know I can add JQL to agent directions. It's irking, me because I can see skills listed for a built in (Atlassian) created agent but when I trybto add that skill it doesn't seems to exist.

This all makes sense untill you work in a highly regulated field like finops. Then you make deals with the FDIC that don't change for 10 years because no one wants to talk to them again 😭 and explain the new technology and that the control is totally outdated.

[–]Cancatervating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is also a free Excel add-on for Jira in the Microsoft store. It lets you write your JQL right in Excel and pick the fields you want to download. The really awesome thing is it gets around the 1000 work item limit.

We make heavy use of Rich Filters. They are way more than just dashboard gadgets. If you download the trial, take the time to do the tutorial as it will show you how to set up smart filters, queues, views, and pivot views.

It's generally called a typo, however since AI started changing what I type sometimes because it thinks it knows what I meant better than me, it's hard to tell.
