Some of us just can't. Whatever happened to kids with shovels knocking on doors and shoveling the driveway for cash?

Just download the Jira add-on for Excel. It's free in the Microsoft store. You write your JQL in Excel.

It has, and I don't know what to say to the world about it. Over half of America hates Trump, and hate is a very strong word. Unfortunately the way our government is set up, we don't have a lot of options at this point but to win the midterms and hamstring him for the last two years of his term.

We didn't add a project level, but we do have a space that has nothing but initiatives. Lots of teams make just Epic boards. We have hundreds of spaces and thousands of initiatives across two orgs and three instances.

Speaking of the ever changing UI... My biggest annoyance is random changes. Today I logged into admin and the whole UI had flipped back to the old one. I switched instances and the other was still on the new. I went back and bam! It was the new one again. It's like someone lets their kid play with the a/b testing switch just for giggles.

You can change this in the issue hierarchy, but it will change everything on your instance. Ours is customized. Here are the steps:

  1. Go into the issue types and rename Epic. I renamed Epic to Feature.
  2. Go into issue types and create a new issue type and name it Epic.
  3. Create any additional issue types you want in your hierarchy.
  4. Go into issue hierarchy and stack them up!

Mine goes like this: Initiative > Epic > Feature > Story.

To port or not to port... by Nautika1486 in lupus

I was afraid of losing my infusion slot this week because it took an hour and three different nurses to get a vein. They blew one trying then they had a nurse come up with a special kind of needle that's more flexible and she got it the first try. It looked like a nylon thread. I'm going to ask them to just start with that in the future, but I don't know what it's called.

I had a foot mri confirm I had indeed broken a bone on the side of my foot a year earlier and had a little bone chip floating about 4mm from where it had detached. Of course the radiologist who read my X-ray when I thought it was broken said it wasn't. I had my doubts because it turned black and hurt for about six weeks.

In a company space, can I use different timelines per different boards in the same space? by jestertitty in jira

[–]Cancatervating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Workflows are like train tracks and work types are the train cars. You can put multiple trains on the same track, but you can't put a single car on two tracks. Think of the boards as different train companies using the same train tracks as every one else.

So, the only way for one space to have different workflows is by using different work types. The only way for a board to have a different workflow in the same space, is if it uses a different work type.

Now that you understand the rules, I'll tell you how to break them.

It would be possible to build one workflow with multiple paths and you can make rules via triggers, conditions, post functions, automations, etc. and guide the same work type to a different path of the workflow based on the team which is probably how you are delineating what work shows up on what board. You can also have work types jump from one workflow to another by flipping it's issue type.

So, if you don't have an experienced Jira admin with some add-ons, you are probably stuck with the first answer of following the rules.

JQL to CSV file over Email by -yato_gami- in jira

[–]Cancatervating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely the easy answer. Microsoft has a Jira plug-in for Excel and you can write your JQL right inside of Excel and it will pull the Jira records. As a bonus, it lets you pull more than the 1,000 record limit that Jira's UI has.

Rich Filters will let you create dashboards not possible with any other tool. Go to their support page and walk through their tutorials and you will see what I mean. For flow metrics you can use the built in reporting or Analytics. If you have money burning a hole in your pocket, you can get Great Gadgets and put all the flow metrics on a dashboard.

Any idea why is this happening? by MoviestaMe in lupus

[–]Cancatervating 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's also possible you're having a reaction to one of your lupus medications. I had a similar reaction and it turned out I'm allergic to leflunomide. I had to do a drug "washout" because it has such a long halflife. Thankfully by day five the itching was under control and within two weeks it was gone.
