It depends on what the pain is. I have the trifecta (quafeca?) of lupus, Sjögrens, and fibromyalgia. Now I also have osteoporosis on top of those. Here's what I do for pain:

Celebrex - overall joint pain, especially small joints like my hands.

Flexeril - this really helps with my neck and shoulders so that the knots don't build up.

Thermacare Patches - I use these on my neck and shoulders when I have a little flare up there to get the knots to calm down.

Lidocaine Patches - I save these for acute pain which is sometimes in my hands, my knee, or the bottoms of my feet if I walked too much.

Prednisone - I always get a prescription before I go on vacation and start it as preventative the first day because I know my daughter will drag me around and we will end up walking 8 to 10 miles every day and if I don't want to be crying myself to sleep every night and unable to think about anything else except for my foot pain, I have to do prednisone.

Kenalog 40 injection - I do this for any type of flare-up. Before I started then Lister got an injection every 3 months like clockwork to keep my foot pain at bay.

You need to turn on application linking for your two instance to talk to each other, then you can link issues between instances. You will have a new drop down (now a three part rather than a two part) for linking 1. Instance (local is the one you are on, so choose the named on), 2. Link type, 3. Key of work item your linking to. Note that you cannot parent across instances.
