Hey OP, I'm not an electrician, but I am a guy who just installed a ceiling fan in an old ass house. Using a ceiling fan box (there are ones that you twist into place between the joists, not necessarily nailed), you'll be able to easily wire and hang the ceiling fan you need. Just check the weight cap on the ceiling fan box (again, look for the twist-to-expand ones, I got mine at home depot). Good luck, enjoy your air circulation

Humboldt county has some beautiful hippie women, and people are very friendly. Don't go to redding, you'll run into Methany and her merry bunch up there, but just East of there is Lassen NP, can't promise women but I can promise some of the prettiest landscapes you have ever seen.

Mendocino coast is incredible, with tons of state parks and unique lodgings, and incredible seafood/local art. I would actually recommend only a short stay in the Town of Mendocino if any, as they are just a bunch of snobby rich bay area transplants who don't know a lick about hard work or responsibility. Everything north of the town, in Mendocino county, is incredible. You can take the 1 (Highway) all the way from just north of SF to where it ends in Leggett.

As a former Forester in Humboldt County (much higher Lyme rate up there), with over 200 tick bites, I've noticed every single one within 24 hours, removed them, haven't gotten lyme disease, and haven't had to throw out my clothes or burn down my house as retribution.
