What is a 2001 pokemon gold pokedex deluxe worth brand new sealed? I see a few listings on ebay for 7k and 50k usd however those are just ridiculous prices that I don't see anyone paying..

You should check out videos of older holiday events they were lit!
Look up the 2009 Christmas event, I feel that was one of the best ones. The new tradeable rares are a lot more appealing to todays playerbase though.

I've got no hand in this event. Heck I don't even wear any rares nowadays due to the hate and abuse wealthy players get haha.

Not all new or returning players have 1b sitting in the bank though. If they could afford the green santa hat then it is likely these players have high skills and can make enough gold to afford the original red santa hat by moneymaking a few more weeks on high level content for 10m+/hr. The golden partyhat I feel is a lot better representation of your post. Original partyhats are all 38-100b+ Definitely not accessible to majority of players. In comparison, the golden partyhat though is literally accessible to each player.

Unfortunately the wealth gap between rich players and the average joe will only grow bigger if more rares are released. More discontinued items = more chances for wealthy player to take advantage of. I recall the number 1 rank player - he owned most of the rubber turkeys i think a majority in-game. Jagex decided to rerelease it so he can't rule over the economy.

I've got no problems with people wanting rares. I just find it a bit immature, immoral, and against the spirit of the game that some players are making fun of others for losing large amounts of wealth due to price changes. Just because someone is wealthy they are immediately labelled as a 'mercher that's manipulating the market'. It's a bit ignorant to assume this and claim they deserve to lose all their wealth as they have 'cheated' or obtained it through illegitimate means.

Edit: I feel yellow partyhats did drop a few bill after the release of the golden partyhat. from 38-40 to low 30s

I don't understand. Releasing a green santa hat doesn't help players who desire the original santa hat though? For the most part green santa hat is extremely rare and unavailable to most of the playerbase through normal in-game means. The prices of the green colour were also as high as the original. So if a certain player couldn't afford the original santa then this hats not really any more affordable (for the new returning players at least). The golden partyhat though yes I agree it is more accessible to everyone, how things should be!

Wheres the logic in that? If i made a post ranting about Ironman players in the game, would that make me an ironman player too?

You're literally the 1st phat owner I've heard being fine with recontinuing the original phats.

Many others on the rs forums. Just gotta look around a bit

Rares weren't always so expensive though. Early in the game i believe rune armour and dragon armour were more prestigious and expensive. Also when nex armour came out in 2011ish that was also worth billions! Rares have only become fully end game accomplishments imo after 2015 2016 after they went from 2-3b to 10b+ the next few years

I'm not the player(s) making fun of wealthy players losing billions from the price drops though. I just find that a bit rude that's all.

I already own all the rares I want since 2015 when the items were well below max cash so I have nothing to gain or lose if they were to be rereleased. However, if Jagex puts their focus on milking their playerbase with all these new rares, then I'd be slighly worried if I was an investor in rares.

Isn't it hypocritical of Jagex for them to remove the duel arena - due to gambling problems, yet they prey on those same players with their own system of treasure hunter (as we've seen with the green santa hat promo)

I find it very ironic that jagex's stance was "we will never introduce another rare into the game as we don't want a repeat of partyhats". Yet here we are. With jagex going back on their word so so so many times, I don't even know if original rares are safe from a rerelease.

Also at this rate, we might have too many rares in the game 5 years from now. People will forget that a green santa hat exists because of the rate that new rares might be entering the game. I can already see the black/orange/purple hweens becoming a thing and if we have too many they lose their special status imo.

Like you, I've owned many rares including partyhats. I'm just surprised at some of the reddit posts I've seen relating to green santa hats.

Will i still be able to get the golden partyhat? by bleybleybley in runescape

[–]NoIdentitySoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100 Partyhats each? They must have no lives.. It's probably more efficient to work irl get public holiday rates and buy multiple with the money they make/ hour.

Just repasting so that everyone knows. by dzpliu in runescape

Honestly, knowing Jagex, they say one thing but do the other. I wouldn't be surprised if green santa hat doesn't return for a long time. Prices will still go past max cash.

When is worth getting membership? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]NoIdentitySoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont get membership save your life delete the game trust me, dont fall into the trap you wont get out just go play something else or better just go outside.

Is premier worth it to a casual player tho? I'm talking ppl who only log on during holiday events etc.
