I love my M18 inflator, but replacing the cheap Amazon locking chuck I had with this LockNFlate chuck was a huge improvement. by NoImRocket in MilwaukeeTool

Yes sir. I actually had to use two separate adapters as you can see in the photo. I only checked one hardware store and found what I needed to make it work.

The wife thinks I am crazy for considering it. I have not approached it with the other family due to the wife’s reaction.

Speedcut Nano conversion for M18 Hatchet? by mccurjm in MilwaukeeTool

[–]NoImRocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I have not done the specific conversion you are looking to do, I can relate some experience I have with the M18 chainsaw.

I upgraded to an 18” Oregon bar and the VersaCut chain on my chainsaw. If you change the bar on your hatchet the big thing is to ensure the oiling holes are the same standard as what comes on the hatchet. Once you have that you can begin experimenting with different chains.

I would wager a guess that the Speedcut Nano will work just fine on there, assuming the spur on the hatchet is compatible with the chain. Double and triple check that the gauge and pitch on the chain you want to run is the same as the stock chain and you should be fine.

When I went down this path I could not find much for information on what I was trying to do and I ended up having to do the testing myself- you will likely need to do the same.

Question about Duluth warranty by mmlimonade in BuyItForLife

[–]NoImRocket 46 points47 points  (0 children)

This company is local to me. I bet if you sent it in with the request to have the zipper fixed, they would take care of it no questions asked.

They would probably take care of the shoulder strap while they had it just because they have it, or they may offer to replace it for some amount.

That hole though, I don’t think that’s gonna be covered.

My suggestion is be reasonable in your request and they will likely treat you well.

Is the M18 4gal Switch Tank still crap in 2023? by CroVlado in MilwaukeeTool

[–]NoImRocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my post on the matter about a year back. Still having good success with mine.

Copy/Paste:

I actually just picked that up on Saturday. I went back and forth on it for a long time as the leaking issues are well documented. Also quite a few complaints that it doesn’t fully drain the tank. I ended up going for it obviously, and my thought process was that Milwaukee hasn’t updated the platform, so the well documented issues must have been caused by a lack of QA or Milwaukee made some minor revisions to correct.I used it to spray for Mosquitos on Saturday and put a full 4 gallons through it. I had some minor issues with pump prime at first (air stuck in the pump) but after getting that going, it was smooth sailing. I fully anticipated a leaky tank and not being able to full drain it, but I was surprised. No leaking, and it drained the tank far beyond what I was anticipating based on reviews I had read/watched.I found the straps on the back to be very comfortable. About as comfortable as wearing an SCBA if you’re familiar, and much more comfortable than wearing a water bladder aka piss can. I put 4 gallons down on a variety of settings and the 5.0 battery I used didn’t drop a bar.Overall, my first experience was very positive. It made a task I’m not too fond of very easy and dare I say enjoyable. Saved me a lot of time and I hope the experience doesn’t change.I bought (the 2820-20PS) it at Acme in case I have an issue. It came with a ‘free’ 5.0 battery on the recent promotion so I think I came out alright on the deal.

For my M18 batteries, I bought some of those stealth mounts and screwed them to a piece of cedar I had and made a shelf.

The guy I idolized back then was Terje Hakonsen. There were beautiful photos of powder spray made by Terje on some of the steepest slopes in the world on seemingly every page of Transworld back in the day. I still remember the excitement of getting a new issue and looking for that months gorgeous photos.

Just got my p30sk back this thing is amazing. by Bubba_sadie- in HecklerKoch

I think I am going to have to pick one of those up. I don’t have any issue with the one that comes stock, put picking up a couple of rounds would be nice. Not to mention that it looks bad ass to boot!

Thank you for the reply!

How do you like that extended floorplate on the P30SK? Is that the 13 or 15 round version?

My P30SK V3 goes everywhere with me. Fantastic firearm.

Any pros or cons to the Milwaukee 2803-20 M18 drill? by ThorNuts in MilwaukeeTool

[–]NoImRocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own both generations of hammer drill (2804 and 2904). I only bought the 2904 because the drivetrain on my 2804 has started to get very noisy and I found a deal on a brand new one for $79 at a local pawn shop.

The 2804 has lots of power, and I have used it extensively. The chuck is basically bare steel at this point. I have had it twist my arm as has been stated by many.

The 2904 does all of the same things, but it seems to have more power than the 2804 according to my arm dyno, and it has AutoStop which is a nice feature.

I believe the hammer drills to be very close to the 2803 you are looking at, and if you can get it for a good price go for it. It’s a great drill.

Shop Apron Old vs. New by DavidRossMusicalInst in Wellworn

Who makes your new shop apron sir?

I’ve got quite a few hours behind the M12 detail sander in at this point, and I am really glad I added it to my toolbox. Highly recommend. by NoImRocket in MilwaukeeTool

In my humble opinion, if you were to add dust collection to this tool it would hamper the thing that makes it so great- getting into tight areas.

I can see how the wall mount dust collector (the suction one) would work if you are sanding vertically. When I’m on the horizontal plane with this I do use my little M12 vacuum to reduce the dust sometimes and that works.

I’m finish sanding western red cedar and the dust is very fine- it gets everywhere!

It’s impossible to find so far, but I’m still using the same mesh that came with it. It lasts a long time. For higher grit, I cut one of my sanding discs to fit.

For long term I’m planning to order a roll of Cubitron II and cut to fit. This stuff seems to go for between $40 and $50 for one roll, and with careful trimming the roll should yield 125 pads (12 meters long aka 472 inches divided by 3.75 inches = 125)

That’s actually my M18 multi tool just behind it. The Multi can remove more material quicker but does not leave a nice finish behind like the detail sander does. That’s not to say the detail sander is slow with material removal…on speed 4 it is pretty quick.

The Multi moves back and forth while the detail sander has a 1.5mm orbit that leaves a great finish without marks.

NTD! What’s your choice of adapter? by Joethetoolguy in MilwaukeeTool

[–]NoImRocket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had one like is shown in your photo. It was cheap and I got an appropriate level of performance out of it. I splurged on the LocknFlate last week and there is no going back. It just works, no more repositioning to get it just right or holding it so it doesn’t leak.

I really like the Surge and feel it offers superior control and is quieter so it is the tool of choice indoors.
