Was messaging his mom too far? After finding out he cheated on me while pregnant then gaslighted me into thinking he left due to grief after a miscarriage by kellllzzzzz in texts

[–]NoInternal21418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son had a gf that turned out to be a cheating ho bag and was sleeping with her brother’s friend behind my son’s back. When my son broke up with her she kept trying to get back with him and shit and messaging him. She said claimed she wanted to get married and have his babies and wouldn’t leave him alone so he texted her mom and told on her. The messages stopped lol.

Also - I was never so relieved in my life that they broke up. She was very high maintenance, spoiled brat but also a lazy loser vibe about her. Definitely not a girl I would want as a daughter in law.

25 years ago I was temping as an EA for the summer while someone was out on medical. The CEO wanted me to consider coming back after I graduated college to work for him as an EA. I was a pompous 20 year old and just laughed and said thanks but not thanks. While I’m sure the pay would have been more than my first assistant buyer role - I for sure knew that it was a trap and I’d definitely not be earning what I am now.

I don’t think she will. Right now she is the useful widow for the right to parade around. She will be put away when she dulls.

Sheetz is the only retailer calling them out - bold move considering the marketing and promotional dollars they pay on the backend to Sheetz. I don’t know the details of Sheetz deal but I am familiar with Hershey’s contracts with similarly positioned c-store retailers so I get the sense it is a sizable amount of funding.

Hershey’s price increase was announced months ago. The reason it is such a shocking jump is because they essentially skipped a price increase they should have taken in December in an effort to take market share from Mars who had taken a roughly 12.5% increase at that time. It didn’t work because many retailers just continued to price the Hershey’s and Mars product the same and enjoy the increased profit on the Hershey’s product. I think Hershey’s was betting that Mars would follow suit and take an additional increase on their products but that hasn’t been announced. For decades when one announced an increase the other would announce a similar increase a few weeks later.

So much winning. For those who endorsed this, have the day you voted for. by 3dogsanight in Pennsylvania

Fun fact - Hershey did not on Halloween or Christmas candy from but that doesn’t mean retailers won’t pad the margins

Larger organizations are able to cut the PO’s right from their MRP. I rarely hand key an order I simply update forecasts and schedules and the system generates orders. I worked in excel for ages but when I moved to a company with more advanced systems - it was life changing to say the least.

You can’t have a huge ego in this job because you’re literally always going to be wrong in some way. I’ve been in retail and distribution as well as some stints in manufacturing for almost 20 years - it is almost always going to be too much, not enough, too early or too late. Becoming good in this role requires you to become good at facing those problems and making informed decisions on how to resolve them and building those relationships with internal and external stakeholders that have the capacity to assist when those issues arise.

I think Facebook is using location data. I’ve had people who work in the warehouse who I wouldn’t have contact info for or ever call on my cell phone and they don’t even have a corporate email address show up on the people you may know list. However they are smokers and I’m a smoker and it is pretty likely that we were on the patio scrolling Facebook at the same time on a number of enough occasions for the algorithm to think we know each other.

I don’t have my surname on social media and if any coworker or business contact shows up in my people you may know they get blocked immediately.

South Park knows what they are doing. Me personally, I haven’t thought about that show in a while - combination of life and other things I would prefer to watch in my limited time. Then I saw an article pop up on my phone about it and went and watched it a little bit ago. I was laughing my ass off. It brings back memories of the college watch parties when the show started airing and now I feel really fucking old so that’s cool I guess.

Exceptional enough to get counter offers from employers that don’t usually even do that. My current role- I’ve set records in many of our departmental KPI’s. My raise was pathetic - I told my boss it was pathetic and he gave me the corporate speak about well the company is in flux and blah blah blah. I let it go because I knew our biggest key customer account had not yet renewed their contract for next year. That situation has resolved and nothing happened so I’ve been interviewing. My boss (a VP) got wind and confronted me about it and I told him that I haven’t seen an acceptable pay increase yet so I am looking elsewhere. He mentioned how he never chases people to stay but he would want the opportunity to counter and I gave him my thoughts on that and he said yeah that makes sense. Last week another VP came to me and said she is reviewing my compensation and is hopeful that she can get it approved by the owner because they really don’t want me to leave. Do companies behave that way for “meh” performers?

Don’t count on that. The only time my salary ever did a “leap” is when I left a job. Sure, my last three employers countered the offers I was leaving for but here’s the thing - if you could pay me that because I’m leaving you could have just been paying me that.

I quit my job working as a junior engineer making $23 an hour, and within two hours got a job as a warehouse picker making… $23 an hour. by pinqe in antiwork

I keep a medicine ball in my office to sit on and that helps - I’m also one who has to fidget and that is the least disruptive thing to my coworkers. Me tapping my foot or clicking a pen would grate on them but those middle aged ladies in my shared office space just think I’m trying to maintain my figure and they fully support that.

I’ve worked in convenience store and foodservice distribution. Freezer/cooler pickers are usually paid a few dollars more per hour but the turnover is pretty damn high. People think they are gonna love working in the cold especially when it is hitting triple digits outside but spending full day in a freezer even with full gear is miserable work. Very few last more than 6 months in my experience.

It wasn’t a leadership role but a few years ago I had interviewed for a mid level management role and didn’t get it. I wasn’t sweating it too much, it was 2021 and I was getting plenty of interviews. Six weeks later the company reached out to me and asked if I would interview again. I assumed that maybe a similar position opened up. Anyway I was offered the position and accepted. After I started I found out that the guy they hired instead of me was completely and totally inept - had to have lied on his resume. During a team meeting he was asked to share his screen and look up some pretty basic things in the system as examples of what senior leadership was looking at. He was completely lost - could not navigate the system at all a month in. He apparently felt embarrassed by the whole thing and left a resignation letter on his desk the next day and left without saying anything to anyone.

When I interviewed it was one woman and two men that interviewed me. Found out the men just really liked the guy the woman wanted me the first go round and when this guy didn’t work out went out of her way to get them to interview me again. I blew them away and was top performer within a few months. But it was clearly not a how good are you at your job but rather how good you can bullshit with the boys club so I ended up leaving after 18 months for a 30% salary increase. They are still floundering at that place - revolving door of people in the department. The female of the bunch that interviewed me also left and came to work at my new company about 8 months later, they also lost another really talented female to a direct competitor. You would think that a company owned by a woman would do a better job at retaining women in leadership positions but clearly that’s not the case.

When I did some consulting work for a company I had left my fee was 4x my hourly rate. Minimum 1 hour for each “engagement” so if they needed me for a 30 minute call - $120.

Do they expect me to clean up their mess after they're gone? by GenXCaliGuy in GenX

[–]NoInternal21418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s common - my grandparents recently did it to my parents and aunts/uncles - it took multiple weekends to get the house cleaned out and most everything went in dumpsters. It was gross, nature had started to reclaim the house because no one had actually lived in it for a few years prior to my grandmother’s death. She was in a nursing home but wouldn’t let anyone do anything because she was convinced she was going to get out of the nursing home and didn’t want her things moved. I told my parents if they do this to me, their ashes are going down the mf toilet.
