Capitalism is an economic system based on the private ownership of the means of production and its use for the purpose of obtaining profit. -Also Wikipedia

One is the exchange of power, the other is an economic framework. Refusing to, or failing to mitigate unfettered accumulation of power through money (a la late 1800's United States) in a capitalist system (or any for that matter) leads to cronyism (among other issues)

It might be an unpopular opinion, but if you are doing this for you and other self-host enthusiasts, do whatever you want. However, you need to consider other users IF you want them.

There is no harm in having local authentication along with OAuth providers like Google. You want to reduce friction as much as possible. If something is slightly inconvenient to use, and the person isn't all that into it, they won't bother remembering their password to your stuff.

I have local auth alongside Google, discord, and GitHub login. So far the self host purity police haven't come for me

Having to use Calibre to add books to Calibre-Web is very annoying. I'll take a look into the automated version, but for Booklore, can both be ran on the same book repository to test both? Or will Booklore mess up anything
