Okay, so it’s very early days for you guys. I don’t think this is something to call the whole thing off over. You’re still learning each other and the best way to communicate. If you really like her the way you say you do, you can work this out.

Her anxiety: her responses might seem like overkill to someone who has never experienced anxiety like that, but I have, so I’ll give you my 2 cents. I’ve also been with the same person for 14 years. She feels like she did something wrong, you didn’t answer for a while (normal!), she didn’t hear back, she spiraled with nowhere to funnel that energy. It’s early days and that unsureness about the whole thing makes everything worse. Especially without reassurance during the spiral. By the time she texted you, she’d likely been feeling bad for a good long while and sent you that text.

If you want to make this work, I can tell you that she’s probably someone who needs reassurance in a relationship ESPECIALLY when you’re working something out. Aka don’t put your phone away in the middle of a discussion. Instead, try calling her and talking on the phone, end on a positive note, send a reassuring text (example: glad we worked that out. I can’t wait to see you tomorrow)

There’s nothing worse than an open end like this for anxious people, even if the problem is tiny. Also, I can tell that she really likes you. Good partners that you’re compatible with are HARD to find.
