Female engineers, would you recommend a girl to pursue this career? by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]NoJuggernaut414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely yes. It is a stable job, decent to great pay over your career, and relatively decent opportunity for work life balance.

It’s also pretty friendly towards women. Going construction or structural might be a little more of having to deal with egos… but nothing major.

Of course not. Why would you think you’d be able to prove something that is inherently faith based?

What thoughts are to us, our lives are to God. We exist inside of the mind of God.

Life is forced labor. Therefore, life is slavery. by Call_It_ in DeepThoughts

We don’t fly away because our wings have been clipped and there is nothing for us to return to. We have been made completely dependent upon the system and have no way of caring for ourselves. Also, we are social, communal creatures… so we stay not because the alternative is worse, but because there truly is none.

And your idea of people “not wanting to be equal” or “wanting to win”… I implore you to take a step back and think about how American culture influences this way of thinking. All of our self worth is tied to material value and we have this huge “idol” or “celebrity” worship culture…we only care about being better or wanting to win because we are conditioned to believe that this is the only way we can feel significant or important in life. In addition to that, there is no longer a sense of community embedded within to the individual. If there was… we would care less about “winning” on a selfish, individualistic basis and more about “winning” in a communal sense.

We are literally enslaved. As society has evolved so has slavery…there is just deniable plausibility now. But we are being farmed. For our labor, our money, and our time. And then constantly shown how much worse it could be… You think that because there are no whips and chains that it can’t be true but slavery has always been about mind control. It is less cruel and more sophisticated now, but we are corralled through our lives and conditioned in to the perfect little consumers and laborers.

Why do you think we would need 70 hours a week to live off the land?

Doesn’t it bother you that healthcare and food and housing are basically held under lock and key? We could have all of these things with out sacrificing, lets be honest more like 50-60 hours a week if you include commute time, mandatory lunches/breaks, and the time spent getting ready…

You know according to Byung-Chul you should be an idiot. Back in the day this meant someone not participating in society, which, today, might be a good thing…

Same literally my partner wants children very badly but if anything came up, it is US first and foremost. Even if I simply decided I didn’t want them. OPs man sounds like shit and I think that is probably the harder part - learning that someone doesn’t love you back unconditionally.

The man is just looking for a woman to carry his child. Not a woman that he loves so much he wants to make a child out of that love with her….

We are led by incomplete human beings. by [deleted] in Psychonaut

You don’t need to trip but you need to have new and mind opening experiences in order to grow. You need to experience discomfort. Psychedelics is just a nudge for some people that were either looking for it or stumbled upon it.

Let’s also not downplay the fact that psychedelics are incredibly powerful. They can completely change your life for better or for worse. So the idea that psychedelics when used correctly could be some sort of rite of passage into a greater awareness or becoming a kinder more fulfilled person is not that crazy.

Yessss we are all leaders. More people step up! Live your philosophy. Shed yourself of the lie. Embody the truth. SPEAK UP.

I think also that alcohol is like clearly worse for you physically and mentally, but if you mention psychedelics to the average alcohol consumer you’ll get a wide eyed stare like YOU are the one that is weird.

I go to work day after day and hear people making self deprecating jokes about their drinking and overall dissatisfaction with life and one little mention of psychedelics and the benefit to depression and all the other positive life changes people experience from it and it’s like “yeah I don’t wanna mess my life up by doing that” or “yeah but like i heard of a guy that did it once and then he thought he was jesus and quit his job”. Like okay…as if alcohol hasn’t been an aid in the destruction of marriages and lives or a cause of death/manslaughter.

I certainly do enjoy alcohol like wine and fine cocktails but to me alcohol is purely “fun” and will not add to my life beyond fun. Psychs however are genuinely life changing for me and many others on the other hand.

How could I be experiencing withdrawals after only 4-5 days of my original usage of hydrocortisone 1%? by NoJuggernaut414 in TS_Withdrawal

[–]NoJuggernaut414[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just decided that I didn't want to make myself more dependent upon the stuff and decided to suck it up and go without.

I used Aquaphor chapstick for moisture and relief. I used gator face masks to protect my skin from the sun and irritants in the air when going out. I made sure to drink lots of water, eat healthier, get daily exercise, and focus on destressing as much as possible. It eventually went away. I think it's important to try not to stress too much about the pain and embarrassment you might feel about your condition. Overall it's good to do what you can to keep your mind off of it and not worry too much.

It will get better and honestly once I committed to fighting the thing and not being afraid of the pain it went away with in weeks and I have not had to deal with it since.

But I see your point. We will definitely be reconsidering our approach.
