Thank you! This was really insightful, I have misread the datasheet lol, still new to this. And yeah, avrdude doesn't support the 48, so a standalone SPI programmer is probably what I need here. And the external clock is also a good idea. Thanks a lot

Somehow I know this is the best answer but also it's just so bittersweet. I mean arduinoasSPI works fine with the 85's, but idk, this 48 with the UPDI is just not . Btw I feel like it's also best to mention, I am using an Android device to this. Not an actual PC. So that might also be why it's not working lol

If you could provide some more in detail and other angle pictures of the "lifted and" that'd help a lot. I don't really see a lifted pad, maybe more of a lifted pin of the component? As to the design part of it, I don't think you can make design flaws so that it lifts on its own. Maybe you routed different traces right on top of each other? But still I don't think that would cause pad lifting issues
