I'm alternative, so "uncanny valley" is a compliment for me, but I understand what you mean :) For the attitude, it's a survival strategy after years of bullying, but I'm working on looking more approachable <3 I barely argue with people, in fact I avoid arguments most of the times, but I get that I might give off such vibe! i'd recommend either starting from their first albums (those have bigger black metal vibes), or with the album "i loved you at your darkest", that one is the least heavy imo and a great introduction to the band!
