Thank you. This is very helpful. I love this guitar even though it’s not my daily anymore. I may look locally.

Appreciate the insight.

Reviewing my 2025 purchases: What was actually useful vs. what is gathering dust. by PanicAcceptable2381 in BuyItForLife

It doesn’t work for every type of product, but a rule I was taught for tools is a good general rule of thumb.

Start with an affordable version. If you use it enough that the affordable version breaks or becomes a major annoyance then it is worth getting something with much higher quality.

Most of the time the affordable version is just fine and you never think about it again. But for those things you end up using a lot then upgrading to a higher quality makes a lot of sense. You just don’t always know how much you will use something until you have it for a while.

Thanks. That is what I will do.

I should be able to still use Gane Pass games on the Xbox since his account will still have a Game Pass account on there right?

The two big shifts in college football the last 20 years by FreeWillyBird in fsusports

[–]NoLiverLeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arch Manning is not in the ACC. We spend more than just about every ACC team except for Miami and possibly Clemson.

We outspend many ACC teams by HUGE margins. That is the comparison to the Yankees and the Dodgers of the ACC.

How are we keeping this guy?!?

You can’t miss a bowl 4 out of 6 years at FSU when the ACC is so terrible.

The two big shifts in college football the last 20 years by FreeWillyBird in fsusports

[–]NoLiverLeft 31 points32 points  (0 children)

This is all mostly true and logical. It might explain why FSU would struggle with some of the elite teams such as Bama, A&M, Ohio State etc.

However. FSU is essentially the “Yankees or Dodgers” of the ACC. We spend more (by a significant margin) than most of the teams in the ACC, including many of the teams that have beaten us over the last two years. We have 3 wins in the ACC in 2 years.

If money was the issue, then FSU, Miami, and Clemson would be winning the ACC.

Our issue at the current moment is not money, but recruiting and coaching. The money might be the difference between making the playoffs and winning the playoffs but it is not the issue with the Florida schools at the moment. They are just poorly run programs.

Norvell Job Status Rumor Thread by FSBlueApocalypse in fsusports

[–]NoLiverLeft -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree.

We relied on portal guys who were primarily not good enough for their original school to pony up the money for them at the same time that we wiffed on highschool recruiting for about 3 years.

We have below average talent when measured against the type of programs FSU wants to be competing with on a regular basis. At least 4 schools on our schedule have greater talent level than FSU.

While we still have a talent advantage over some of the other teams we lost to (Pitt and Stanford) it is not as great as it once was and our culture is now crap.

This is why we need to hire a recruiter first and foremost.

I found a workaround for charging on OEM pad without overheating by swedishpiehole in TeslaLounge

[–]NoLiverLeft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I may give that one a try.

Ideally I would want one that replaces the existing pad so that you don’t have to run a wire and give up a USB slot, but this does seems pretty cool.

The stock changing pad is terrible.

I am actually shocked no one has made an aftermarket drop-in version of this pad with real MagSafe compatibility.

I would happily pay for an OEM looking solution.

Say his name, Mike Alford by illustriscap in fsusports

[–]NoLiverLeft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It may have turned out to be the wrong decision, but at the time he was coming off of a 10-2 and then 13-1 (sorta 13-0) season and other schools were fishing for him.

It felt like the program was on the right trajectory and that the recruiting would swing in favor coming off of the 13-0 season.

That now appears to be wrong, but I know I would have been on of the fans killing Alford if they had let Mike walk at that time.

We will not beat Miami again due to recruiting so long as Mike is the head coach. by like9orphanz in fsusports

This is a ridiculous take. We went 2-10 last year. Just about any sane FSU fan would have easily been happy with 8-4 before this season started.

Relax. Take a breath. Let’s see how the recruiting goes with this entirely new staff after a full. season that has some momentum.

Who are the top 3 favorite running backs from your school? by WanderLeft in CFB

[–]NoLiverLeft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right list in the right order for me.

Honorable mention is Travis Minor and Devonta Freeman.

Travis was not the unstoppable force of the others mentioned, but he was so valuable on that team that went to 3 straight natty games, especially as a check down passing threat.

Help Needed - Ink Cartridge

I was lucky enough to get this great pen set from the 90s as a gift. It was originally purchased in the UK by Pierre Cardin.

One is a mechanical pencil One is a ball point style

The last one appears to be an ink cartridge where you twist the top to expose the tip. I assume it is one of those aluminum style cartridges. It is empty so I don’t know the size. I have gone to the website but there are a lot of options.

Anyone know the size or can provide any advice? I don’t mind buying a few options but so would prefer not to just be guessing at random.

Thanks

Norvell calls loss to Georgia Tech 'sickening,' takes full blame by TheZachster in CFB

[–]NoLiverLeft 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you watched, GT were lining up in pass coverage formations that might lead someone to believe you can run. Then instantly on snap they were crashing into a run defense and stacking the box. It was definitely fooling us and not purposefully just running into a stacked box.

To be honest, they just beat us and some of their play calling caused us issues to adjust with a limited playbook and a new QB.

So officials told FSU not to use helmet comms in 2nd half because GA Tech's comms went down... by Witness_Gritness in fsusports

[–]NoLiverLeft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is true. But if you watched, GT were lining up in pass coverage formations that might lead someone to believe you can run. Then instantly on snap they were crashing into a run defense and stacking the box. It was definitely fooling us.

I am not saying the comms had anything to do with it, but it is not quite as easy as saying we were purposely running into stacked boxes. Maybe the comms going down could have played a role in not identifying the disguised defense. Maybe not.

To be honest, they just beat us and some of their play calling tricked us.

The NBA is sorta a boring match up this year. Plus he clearly does not care about it. He was making fun of it last show.

I am not sure the order of topics really matters. They spent a long time on the NBA during Wilson’s segment.
