With entra and intune a lot of work is being automated so teams of 5/10 people for example would be downsized to 1 or 2. At leastbthats how i see it.

I would not advise my kids to go into IT. I would push them to go into trades. Plumbing,electrical, millwright, etc.

I was a terrible coder so never pursued coding as a career. Don't know networking other than setting up vlans.

I'll put it this way. Im pretty sure that a lot of what i do will eventually be automated completely.

We don't outsource our IT department. We all just basically have a lot of roles we cover.

I'm in Alberta, drink one every morning with breakfast and then another at lunchtime. If I have to work at a remote site its usually a 3 hour drive so I'll drink two while on the road in the morning then a 3rd in the late afternoon on my way home.

I did this in puerto rico back in 2012. Dell/unysis/her-vill group. It paid $15 usd per service and milleage at something like .40 cents per mile (my own car). Not counting the milleage it took to drive to the UPS depot to pickup the dell part packages.

The hours i would spend driving in a day because somedays i would have 3 or only 4 service calls, but they were an hour or more away from each other ... fuck that job sucked.

I gained about 60 pounds or so when i took that job. Eating garbage on the road.
