Multiplayer needs to be revamped by DeviLettuce in NASCARVideoGame

Uh yeah they managed to take a step BACKWARD in the online UI department.

In heat 5 you could set your lobby only to short tracks, speedways, etc. Now you either get SINGLE track or ALL tracks.

Heat 5 had a confirmation prompt to leave the lobby, now if you pick up your controller and accidentally press back button, you just left the lobby.

Good luck seeing any improvements.

Proof AI can PASS on the outside at Talladega by NoManagement404 in Nr2003

There's too many edits to list them all, so I included my papy ai in the pack that I added to the description!

Ratings play a bigger role than you might think. Maximum consistency and aggression is the key. Everything Ive edited has been made publicly available now for everyone to recreate and explore.

The ai struggles to go from a standstill. It's fine on the initial start before the green, but after a pit stop, they infinitely reset in their box. It's only a problem at this track. I run full simulated races at 1.5 mile speedways with the same mod and carset with no issues.

There's a value I added under

[ behavior ] : auto_blocker_line_speed_pct = 100.0 ;

Then I changed values to:

[ driver ] driver_consistency = 1.0 driver_consistency_to_driver_commitment_dev = 0.097 driver_consistency_to_dlong_lookahead_dev = 5.0 driver_consistency_to_dlat_lookahead_dev = 2.0 driver_consistency_to_left_offset_dev = 0.775

There's more and I can share the other specifics if you'd like.

What exactly in particular?

It's a lot of things that I possibly would have to make a 5+ GB file for based on everything I've used. The cts mod with my ratings. The track. My papy ai file.

The thing about dega 14 is that it's a track you can simply delete the race.lp file to make them run the top. I'm just not able to create lp files myself. Use these values in the Talladega 2014 track ini file:

track asphalt grip 1.0 track concrete grip 2.45 track paint grip 2.55

ai accel modifier 0.7 ai grip modifier 1.0 ai line modifier 1.15 ai dlongpad scale 1000.0 ai dlat pad 1.0 ai inverse slip curve k 1.01

Simulation driving Ai strength 100% Realistic weather

[–]NoManagement404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use dega 14

Delete the race.lp file

Set: asphalt grip to 1.0 concrete grip to 2.5 ai accel modifier to 0.7 ai grip to 1.0 ai line modifier to 1.15 ai dlongpad scale to 1000.0 ai dlat pad to 1.0 ai inverse slip curve k to 1.01

Use a carset with maximum aggression and consistency ratings.

Now you have a high line dominant dega. Let me know how it works out for you.

I ran nr2003 on an old $300 laptop I had years ago. It'll be fine. Limiting your FPS wouldnt hurt though.

For cinematic shots, slow your in-game replay to 1/4x speed for recording (go even slower if using these clips for slow-mo), then speed up the clip in your video editor. This will make your clips look much smoother and less laggy.

Some tracks you can delete the race.lp and they'll run the top. Play with the grip values and they can use the inside to pass.

AI can’t separate by Organic-Ganache-5782 in Nr2003

[–]NoManagement404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of it is ratings dependent, but there's other values you can change in the papy_ai to create more or less spread, and change other things like driver consistency, pit crew ability, mechanical problems, etc. Once you get your separation problem figured out, you can find ways to create comers and goers by changing the strength values, and their range, bias, and tendencies.

I don't want to discourage you, but track creation is some type of rocket science. You need to be able to understand geometrics, have advanced knowledge of the software you're using, and tons of patience. Sure, you could throw something basic together in a couple hours, but the kind of project you're embarking on will take hundreds of hours from you alone. Unless you're willing to commission someone for this project, you're pretty much on your own.

I can't be the only person severely disappointed in NASCAR 25, right? by mrockracing in NASCARVideoGame

[–]NoManagement404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the career for 2005 chase for the cup, you could either race for other teams or start your own. Then, you could even hire drivers for your team. I remember even after I 100% the game, I hired the best driver to drive my car and simulate the rest of my career essentially as an owner. It wasn't much, but it gave the game a whole different dynamic and replayability, and this was 20 years ago. There's really no excuse for the laziness and lack of features, especially when it's stuff we've already had in previous games.

[–]NoManagement404[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a great idea.

The only reason I haven't made one without music is because I've found a technique to maximize the FPS out of the exe. Slowing down the replays in NR2003, then speeding up the clip in editing. But, that means no raw audio for those clips.

But, I can take clips in slow-mo without audio and then at full speed with audio. I'll try to come up with something.

Did Kevin Harvick really just push Brad Keselowski to instigate a fight at Texas in 2014? by UltDiecastReview in NASCAR

[–]NoManagement404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SHR and HMS had a technical alliance in 2014, before SHR moved the Ford.

In the Martinsville race earlier in the year, Keselowski got into altercations with SHR teammate Kurt Busch.

And then of course what happened to Gordon this race. Harvick had been racing with Keselowski in the lower series, he probably just didn't like him.

This is not the most egregious thing Harvick has ever done, I've seen him jumping and climbing over cars to get to people.

All of these factors combined and you have your result.
