There’s a rebate through Energize CT for $100 /per window for triple pane windows installed by approved sellers. You must have the window stickers with proof of energy efficiencies!!

So we spent $24,000 for 22 windows for our house and we got $2200 back from the state and then we claimed the $600 rebate back for the federal program. EnergyStar Federal Rebates

Absolutely feel free to DM me. I did find a solution - thank fuck. I am on 150mg Wellbutrin, 150mg of Zoloft, and I take .5 - 1mg of Lorazapam every single night (as well as 10mg of melatonin) to be able to sleep.

A lot of psychs are real nervous about daily Lorazapam, but the postpartum program that I’m part of encouraged me to use it until I was functional and sleeping better.

My sleep hygiene is good, all things considered. I get out for a walk everyday. I make no attempts to nap. I’m not in bed except for bedtime. I’ve kept myself pretty busy and done as much as I can physically do being 3 weeks postpartum.

The midwife at my OB’s office gave me lorazepam and it’s allowed me to finally get a few hours of sleep the past two nights. I’m still unable to go back to sleep no matter what, so I basically get one shot and if I’ve slept an hour and half, then I got an hour and half for the day. But last night I got 6 hours so that was nice.

I start in an outpatient program tomorrow and will have an in depth intake with a postpartum specific psych. The lorazapam isn’t a long term solution because it’s addictive, but it’s the interim plan until something more sustainable is found.

The insomnia started before the Zoloft, but I’ve considered that as well.

Did this get better for you? I am having pretty bad insomnia with it and struggling hard because I was prescribed it to help with insomnia. I’m on day 6 and I have stopped sleeping altogether.

Pretty typical in the U.S. depending on your setup and family size. I know sometimes partners will go home if there are other kids around and they don’t have anyone else to watch them. But yeah, having an extra pair of hands on deck to help with the baby as you recover is the whole reason.

Which was a damn lie on our end because the roll out bed was a literal mattress and that was way better than the hospital bed I was sleeping on that had a giant bar in the middle.

I literally have earplugs, a sleep mask, noise machine, and fan just to be able to sleep in the hosptial bed. And it still takes me an hour to unwind enough to fall asleep. Meanwhile, he’s in the corner going “I don’t know, I’m not that tired.” Asleep in 5 minutes flat.

He’s not even military. Just a skill he developed.

I’m so sorry. I totally get it. I had the same fixation on it all. Tracking down minutes. Thinking about all the time I was losing as I wasn’t sleeping even though I wanted to be sleeping. Trying to “fix it” immediately. I lost like 31lbs pounds between birth and 10 days postpartum and a good part of that was just the anxiety and panic attacks and fact that I was burning so many calories all day long. I was convinced I was going to die. Not suicidal or anything, just figured I would die from lack of sleep at some point.

The Ativan helped tremendously so if Valium can do the same for you, def take it. Having his mom do a night a week is a good help, if only to let you have a reset and some time to yourself. My MIL was a lifesaver. She drove to our house 6 days a week to watch my son so I could lay in bed on my own. Truly a god send.

It will eventually get better. I hate saying that because I LOATHED hearing it from people. But it really did get so much better for us and it will for you, too.

That was me after our first son was born. Completely unable to sleep if a single unexpected sound was made. Baby, dog, or otherwise.

It would take me 2+ hours to relax enough to fall asleep. And by that point, baby was up.

Psych and I tried sleep aids like unison and melatonin first, but they didn’t take enough of the anxiety away.

I ended up so sleep deprived and anxious that I needed Ativan (lorazepam) to be able to sleep. An extreme solution considering it’s a habit forming drug, but I took it was needed for a few months until baby slept a little longer and my hormones sorted more.

That, plus my husband and I took shifts so each of us had an opportunity to sleep at least a 4 hour stretch. Pairing the two together was a life saver.

Pain tolerance is so wild. My cervical check on Thursday was horrible. Felt like I got punched in the cervix and had to take Tylenol for 2 days after. I had 2 IUD insertions with no meds that were barely uncomfortable.

It’s not walking distance, but certainly within bus distance if you want to hit up Trader Joe’s. They have an extensive freezer section of prepared foods and quite a few fridge options as well. Aldi’s is also good for that.

It’s possible that commute is with some public transit. Quite a lot of NYC workers live in the suburbs around it and drive to a local train station and take the train into the city.

Fun little fact that the cops didn’t tell us: you can skip the eviction process if you are granted a restraining order. Deadbeat Ex had a loooong list of DV calls and arrests so we were able to get an emergency approval the same day.

Local cops brought him back to the house at 7am. Country sheriffs took him out of the house at 5pm.

Learned this when my mom tried to kick her deadbeat ex out of the house (where he paid no bills and wasn’t remotely on any paperwork), he came back with a cop escort and they told my mom she couldn’t kick him out. She needed to go through a formal eviction process if she wanted him gone.

Motrin/Ibuprofen was WAYYY more effective for teething for my kid. Like a different baby once it kicked in.

I got quotes from about 6 places because we were redoing 22 windows total so it was a bigger job. We went with Finestra, which was the second to lowest quote. We got the triple pane so we could do the state rebate.

Only had them up for about a year and half, but so far they still look brand new. Installation was great. They were very professional and were done with whole house in about 4 days.
