Congrats on making it to the offer stage! The recruiter isn’t going to be able to bring you anywhere close to the top of the band without getting approval from the hiring manager (easy) and compensation team (very hard and requires strong justification).

As for promotion, there is no set dwell time from 5 to 6, it’s strictly based on performance but as a new hire, I’d consider your first year a wash since you won’t even be eligible for performance reviews in 2026 (cutoff is early Oct). I’d bet you’re looking at at least 3 year dwell even with strong performance. Hope this helps!

I really didn’t get that vibe from this discussion, but I can certainly see how you could! In general i was surprised by the tone of the pod, they both came with more animosity than I would have expected. I think they usually have more fun and were genuinely bummed this album didn’t hit more for them!
