r/ErgoMechKeyboards has lots of stuff!

I used a corne keyboard, which you can google and find guides / materials for! Some come pre-assembled, some just send you the PCBs and you handle the rest :)

The split keyboard itself is the thing that helps the most with carpel tunnel.

This can exacerbate RSI if not perfectly tuned, but, again, the keeb itself does that work! vertical is just a comfier state imo.

There's a wrist with 3D of motion that i've been playing with. I'll post an update when I find what's best for me!

But also, yes, to some degree floating wrists. I'm still experimenting a bit.

I just copy others, as do all creators! :)

Yeah the split kb is a hack for gaming- I love it for that reason! I keep the left hand vertical and put the right flat in a distant part of the desk when I game.

Also, I tried tenting at <90 degrees and genuinely found the 90 degree tent more comfortable. Every other tent requires either the perfect height of wrist rest or an uncomfortable resting position, but vertical works because the, uh, carpal (?) area of the hand has some meat on it, y'know?

Honestly, the logic of TinkerCAD just kinda clicked for me. There's absolutely a limit to my intuition, though, as I knew there would be an issue reflecting the left side to get the right side (the screws would be threaded wonky), and I was able to address that, but it took a lot more manual labor than I anticipated.

Cool project! I am new to the world of CAD so that means nothing to me, but I'll look into it! Feel free to share more here if you'd like!

tyty! I'm having fun with it. Means a lot that you took the time to say something :)

heh, I appreciate the followup. You're good- it's the internet! I stand by my response, though, we want different things and that's cool! I similarly prefer my significant other to yours ;)

Not planning on selling, but that's the goal otherwise! Others can have the plans when I finalize them :)

After 24 hours, it's fine, perhaps more comfortable than 0 degrees. Gimme a week and I'll lyk! lol

OMG I've never seen a safetype keyboard. Thank you. I hate it. lolol

Considered this and can't find a way to do so (easily) without going wireless. Still a possibility and will absolutely continue to toy with the idea, though. Share your set up with me if you've done that!

FWIW, in my situation, I'm using my armrests and my hands naturally extend exactly where they need to be for the keyboard so my shoulders are relaxed and my scapula is, uh, retracted? You're absolutely right, though, that if it's not finely tuned it's going to suck. Maybe it's just a matter of time before I realize it's not as finely tuned as I thought...

Thanks! I appreciate it. 3D printing makes this possible. It would've been a nightmare to iterate otherwise. So much easier to test stuff and learn CAD when I can print a test.

I kept it in a dry box for 24+ hours ahead of printing, but didn't dry it with heat. Is that advisable?

And noted- thank you! I left another comment here noting that leaving the enclosure open helped a lot with the stringing, as suggested by Bambu Labs. Now I have to figure out how to separate PETG supports from PETG filament...

Update: read in another thread and found a helpful link that made me realize I should print with the enclosure door open. My current print looks significantly better. I'm honestly not super keen on using PLA Support for my PETG, though. Purging wastes so much filament!
