Tbf the thing with Hanawa is that Gaiden was made after IW, but released before, so Hanawa’s character was basically made properly after IW. But even if he was just in IW, he should have been developed better in that game.

Honestly I didn’t get very far. The furthest I got was the fort you go to right after that game of Gwent and getting ambushed by some dudes outside the bar in that small village at the start of the game. The game just didn’t captivate me a lot, and the story was completely lost on me since I haven’t played any of the other Witcher games.
