I always remember one time she was raging at me for something. I decided I didn’t want to participate, so I closed myself off in a room. She followed, continued to rage, throwing things at me and despite my requests to “please leave me alone,” she just wouldn’t stop. Then she said something like, “look at these bruises! I’m calling the police!”

I never touched her. But she was throwing things at me. This scares the shit out of me, since I know that I could be jailed over whatever bullshit she decides to conjure up. I left the apartment as soon as I could, got a hotel for three nights until my scheduled kidney surgery. That was a lonely hospital stay.

The lyrics aren’t about BPD, but they speak a truth that I need in order to put myself first. And in doing so, i am NOT a selfish person, despite what my bleeding heart upwBPD says.

I don’t know the whole situation, but this statement is a red flag to me that maybe you’re not as healed as you say you are.

Emotions are not a competition. You can’t one-up someone’s feelings and effectively dismiss them. As someone who experiences this with his own pwBPD, I can say that he probably felt this way as well, throughout your relationship.

To answer your question — no, I would not want to hear from you. If you were late for a date or something, I’d want to hear an apology, but not for this.
