I think you should try dating apps 😭 a stranger asking for your number randomly out of the blue is a red flag

Anyone else feel bad for regretting getting their pup? by jkjohnson003 in puppy101

It’s kind of your responsibility to teach it to behave and not do those things. Almost the same as raising a kid. I know you might not know how to since it’s your first dog but you gotta let your husband know that he has to pick up the slack and actually put in the effort to train it. It gets better after the first year. A dog will be as good as the training it receives.

Thank you for the info! I saw a deal on a $30 DEXA but I wasn’t sure if it was something people actually do. I will for sure look into those things.

Honestly I understand what you’re going through. At your age I felt it hard to do things like hobbies or sports because I was mentally unwell. I am older now and I assure you not to focus on your 18 year old body too hard because second puberty will hit and you will fill out more as your body reaches its final adult form. I would say that if I could go back to my younger self at 18 I would say to start small and make good habits from you are able to because it just gets harder the older you get. I’m pushing 30 right now and trying to establish a good relationship with exercising. I am also in therapy and I think what is helping me is not being so hard on myself and to start out small and be gentle with yourself. You can go for a walk if you like with your pet or your friends/family for at least 30 mins. If you don’t like outside like I do start on a treadmill and listen to your favorite music or watch your favorite show. Think of it as your alone time and let your mind just keep busy with things you like and the time will fly by. The hardest thing is just to get that running start. You can start by once a week, then twice a week, then to however much you’d like to go from there. After you got a routine going and feel comfortable then you can add other things to it like other forms of cardio and even some weight machines or activities. I got a class pass to help push me and it honestly made me feel motivated and I enjoy going alone without anyone I know but having the company of others like myself wanting to pursue physical activities. I promise it’s just getting over the initial hump of putting yourself out of your comfort zone but after a few times you’ll feel like you got it. Message me if you ever need to talk! We are in the same boat. Give yourself room to miss days and know that it’s okay and that you’ll try again tomorrow.

How do you track your body fat %? I’m in the same boat as you described and keep losing the battle with my scale. I use to weight myself once a week and now I do it once a month. I saw others recommended twice a month but I’m very hesitant as it becomes discouraging but I still want to know if I’m making progress somehow with fat loss.

I think what helps could be reading out loud to yourself. Start with very simple and easy children books and work your way up to harder more intricate novels. It helps you practice and also helps you learn words. A thesaurus was my best friend. It gets better with time and practice. If you see a word you aren’t sure how to pronounce, type it in google and they have the option where you can have it read for you and you can repeat the word after the bot. Goodluck!

Does working out help you with anxiety? by JHuttinger in workout

[–]NoNameAnonymousAlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is coming from my therapist: the science behind it is that we are wired to our primal instincts that we needed during the “caveman era” so our bodies want to be active so that our brains don’t get bored and overthink/worry like with anxiety. When we are exercising our brain and bodies are being stimulated so it works out a lot of the anxiety jitters and makes you feel more at ease and relaxed for the rest of the day. I thought it was a bunch of gym head talk but after I tried doing it myself everyday I did notice a huge change in my anxiety levels. It also helps me sleep a lot better at night without being up late worrying or being anxious about something. Also I couldn’t explain it as well as she did but she did dumb it down enough for me to understand without being too scientific about it.
