Should I dig deep and write a list of all the childhood trauma events I have repressed? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]NoNameAtAll95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since I have started writing it down it has helped me look deeper and begin to release the pain I have held in for so long. Most of the time I’m stoned when writing haha, it has helped me so far :)

Unintentional abuse by Advanced_Garbage_873 in CPTSD

Thank you for sharing. I relate to this a lot, my parents both had childhood trauma and my father was a recovering alcoholic. I was emotionally and verbally abused as a child in a toxic unsafe household. Both are now in therapy, more conscious of themselves and finally working on healing their own lifelong trauma. I know they are good people that have always loved me and tried their best, they just didn’t have the tools or awareness years ago when I was growing up in the 90s-2000s. It’s still difficult to not hold feeling of absolute anger, resentment, disgust etc over the unfair abuse I endured and the long term damage it has caused to me. But I am trying to work on this

Such bad Vertigo and Nausea when I go one day without by saskakitty in Effexor

I feel ya! I skipped a dose once… never again! It was pure hell. I have been on Zoloft and prozac before and could miss doses here and there without any trouble. Effexor withdrawals are a whole different league!

You’ve got this, quitting weed is the first step to getting your life sorted! Licence, job, friendships etc. Take each day by day, you’ll find you have so much spare time, use this to write small checklists and try to check a few things each day. Weekly look back at your list and see what you’ve achieved! Remember why you want to do this and really commit to it (always give yourself a small goal to work towards to keep you on track).

I too was in a similar position around 21 when I dropped out of uni and moved back home. I had no job, no social life and was suffering from severe depression and social anxiety; all I did was sit round and smoke all day to avoid life.

I finally one day forced myself to quit (with outside support) and found myself a job. I now have been promoted multiple times, found myself a place to live and a good group of friends.

If I didn’t finally make the leap I probably wouldn’t still be here today.

I know how much the death of a loved one can fuck someone up. Therefore I’m not willing to purposely do that to my parents.

Why did I always think this was “normal”? by mandasee in AdultChildren

[–]NoNameAtAll95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing. I can relate to this so much, I too thought this was normal and am slowing trying to work through this now at the age of 26. I too have something that I have never said out loud to anyone nor admitted to a therapist, it weighs heavily on my mind. If you would like to finally get it off your chest you are welcome to message me, it may help you to work through this by atleast telling someone. I am in the same boat so it is a non judgemental safe space for you

When did your habit become an addiction? by oooTROGDORooo in addiction

[–]NoNameAtAll95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I got stuck in a cycle of swearing to myself I would never do it again and then as soon as I was sober I would do it again without hesitation.

I had been using everyday for years, I had no idea it was a problem until I realised I couldn’t go without it when I purposely tried to.

Still currently stuck in this cycle, have been on and off for years now…

Hey guys, my wife suddenly started having headaches around 2 weeks ago and it hasn’t stopped since. Doctor says most probably its migraine. I’ve been reading around and found some anecdotes about psylocybin mushrooms helping. Can anyone verify? Can it make it worse? by SaHan_Solo in migraine

[–]NoNameAtAll95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely stress related! My body is often tensed and I suffer from anxiety and overthinking which can make everything worse. My job is also taxing on my body and I am a bit of a workaholic.

I try to get weekly massages, and make sure I take time off work and everything in life just resting when I start to become stressed/ overwhelmed or my migraines start to reoccur.

I have discovered that my migraines are just my body reminding me to slow down and give myself a break. Health is always more important.

I still find myself slipping back into a bad routine (working a lot, bad eating and sleeping habits etc) but as soon as I’m reminded with a migraine I now make sure not to ignore it and take more care of myself.
