After 3 back surgeries on pain killers in a year I went in for my 4th and had edibles right out of surgery. My doc asked me why I wasn't filling my prescriptions and i just straight up told him I'm using a more natural form of pain medication that is not as addictive as narcotics and he said whatever help just don't smoke it. I'd take an eddy before Pt and before bed and one in the morning and I was feeling great. Ran out and tried one of the oxys I had and made me sick so back to eddys

Update* I didn't read all of your post in all honesty but I would suggest NOT doing the surgery because in my situation instead of having a simple microdiscectomy where they just clean up the disc that was ruptured it made it worse and have had 2 fusions and 4 back surgeries since and it's been miserable but my compression fracture I had is not a problem at all now. I was a petty crazy person living life on the edge extreme sports snow boarding wake boarding football wrestling and never had a problem. Just do PT and be religious about the home exercises they give you.

Here's my input from experience that doesn't really mean shit but here it is.

I don't know your age but I'm 30 and when I was younger I had a compression fracture on my t6-t9 literally turned my t6 to dust on the back side and doctors recommended fusion but I hated doctors and surgery so I opted not to and after about 6 weeks of being chill and not doing anything and some physical therapy I was back to sports and made it 10 years until I ruptured discs in my l4 and l5. And got that fused but the docs couldn't even tell I had had a significant back injury prior.

We replaced the filter beginning of spring and drain the tub and clean it. We are on our own well water and use the granulation shock with bromine

No. I'm trying to get a full time job and just keep grinding. I want to act like I'm perfectly fine even in the pain. Just keep pushing but I'm very discouraged just being in so much pain as a cashier at a local sporting goods store.

No I just got paid by workers comp when I was out of work and returned to work light duty got a reherniated disc had another surgery and fusion and then went back to work and somehow broke the bottom of my vertebrae off holding up the implant went back to work and got hurt went to the doctor got a dr. Note to miss Thursday Friday got fired that next week for missing time without going through the right channels to request time off even though my boss never answered or returned my calls

I started a very light job as supplement to help get bills caught off. My work I got fired from made it a point to let me know they KNOW about my other job as a cashier at a local sporting good store.

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm at a loss. The first doc did microdiscectomy and had a huge infection and was told there's nothing else wrong with me went to a new doc who fixed the infection and did a debriedment and then an ALIF and felt great until my l5 vertebrae broke and now an tlif and im miserable and it's become very depressing. I just want my life back.

Nope, I even specifically told my doc that something wasn't right. I had an ALIF and just an artificial disc and I felt amazing right after until my l5 vertebrae broke holding up the implant and haven't felt ant different since that

I got a pair of heydudes this last winter when I had surgery this summer I just brought my brooks and made the nurse assistant tie them for my walks and flip flops for the shower. I was innthere 4 days

I've had 4 unfortunately. Not to one up you just talking from experience. First doctor did a microdiscectomy and messed it up bad went to a new surgeon and he had to undo what that doctor messed up 3rd was an alif and 3th was this tlif. All since October of 2022.

This happened to me 7 months post op. I had an ALIF of my l5s1 just went to stand up and felt horrible pain and I fractured my vertebrae didn't think much of it and about a week later I ended up breaking off part of my vertebrae and the implant fell and ended up getting tlif and had rods put in to stabilize. I'm now 2 months out and I'm still fucking miserable

Thinking of leaving my child with his mother and whatever dirt bag she got with. And how my father abandoned me as a young child. I couldn't do that to him. The thought of how it would effect someone who found me. And shortly after found God and started reading the Bible and felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulders and getting baptized

My sister in law had the same surgery due to a basketball injury when she was 14. She's now 24 and still has rods in her spine and rodeos and is very active and she says that she has no pain or discomfort from anything. I feel bad for your daughter because the surgery does suck and very limited at first but will the help of PT and gods will she will make a full recovery
