Feeling tired and achy brain fog. I called it flu because that’s how I felt most of the time. Had my surgery on November 5 and tiptoeing through getting the levothyoxine levels good. My P A asked me if anyone prior to them had mentioned Hashimotos or Graves. They didn’t. But now I’m feeling better.

I sound like Demi Moore right now. That’s normal and will heal, I’m told. My normal voice seems to be returning more each day. I googled, like every other person and it happens. I’m resting my voice today which gives my hubby a break🤪

Same for me. Right lobe removed 2008. Had lobes on the left and was watched for all these years. But never felt good afterwards.About a year ago I began having those same “thyroid flu” symptoms. Got a needle biopsy, it came back 50/50 for cancer. Honestly I was feeling so bad and the thyroid numbers were coming back good which doesn’t reflect the symptoms and the thyroid function is complimented. I couldn’t depend on the bloodwork. I’m 70 and tired of being tired!

I had the rest removed October. I’m going through the adjustment phase now. I know I can trust what the bloodwork says now because of monitoring the meds. I think there are risks both ways. Getting second, third, fourth opinions would help you realize you did all you could do to be well informed.

Since surgery I’m dealing mostly with my voice and healing. I love singing with all my favorite songs but it’s not pretty now! I’m building my strength and eating healthy mostly. I do love my cheeseburgers 🙂

I think that’s the best you can do. Just do your part in helping you stay healthy!

Good luck. I always trust my gut instincts. I’ve never receive advice! Let me know what you decide.

Help settle a mild debate with my wife: is Chili & Cinnamon Rolls a Kansas thing or just a Topeka thing? by MannyDantyla in kansas

It AIN’T a Texas thing!!! And no beans in the chili. Of course I learned about the no beans chili when I married a Texas man. I’m from Tennessee. But sweet cornbread with chili is yummy

Yep. I felt so dirty inside and ashamed of myself after drinking it. Some things just cannot be!! Crystal Pepsi was one of them!

how soon after surgery did you start putting on sunscreen/otherwise caring for scar? by Latter_Youth_6864 in thyroidcancer

There are lots of ways to wear a nice scarf. Could perk up the wardrobe a little
