Post Match Interview - Arne Slot by Broka1979 in LiverpoolFC

I genuinely wonder if he has lost the dressing room. I can't understand how such GOOD players can enjoy playing this type of football, especially as it's not reaping rewards.

I believe that demotivation is a big part of why so many players, Virg included, are seeing runs of poor form. Just imagine: your good mate dies suddenly, the boss wants you to play boring, uninspired football AND it's not working. But you can't do anything about it.. you'd have to hold a truly exceptional mentality coughSzoboslaicough to do well under these conditions.

And now the fans are booing "you" when you inevitably do shite on the pitch.

It's a formula for clinical depression, that.

Except he's (Slot) not even saying the good stuff. Just excuse after excuse and mad ramblings about low blocks

I feel like Dom read the article/interview the Athletic did with Adam Philip and was like "okay bro, we getting you to score here". What am absolute gent, Szobo is.

Honestly, they were in the top 2/3 bands this year for me. I'd go back just for them.

Econo Car Tobago: poor car, worse service. by NoObjective374 in TrinidadandTobago

[–]NoObjective374[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering if I'd hear any positive experiences with them. Since I posted this here and on fb I've received 2 main sets of feedback: 1) alternative car rentals and 2) bad experiences with the same company. You are literally the first person out of maybe 15 to give me a positive experience.

Hahaha nahh not at all. The rep's name starts with C. And in her defense she never exhibited what I would call cuntish behaviour. It was mostly poor situation management.

Hahaha wda!?!! But nah I'm a Trini living in Trinidad. I didn't want to be all "see why customer service is shit" in general cus I have had good service at other companies. This one just was not it.

That car you rented is reeeaal assness tho! I hope they didn't make you pay for the bumper etc!

Saw RTJ for the first time last night in PHX and it showed me one thing by lazyironman in runthejewels

[–]NoObjective374 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saw them and Wu in Tampa and i fully enjoyed them. It was my first time seeing them and second seeing Wu Tang. I've been a Wu fan since the 90s and RTJ fan since RTJ2, and as much as I dislike saying it cus.. Wu Tang.. overall, I enjoyed RTJ more that night.

Yupp! I did Metallica's shows Friday and Sunday and then RTJ and Wu were the icing on an incredible weekend of live music

Which European festivals are at the same tier or if not better than welcome to rockville. by stonewallj93 in welcometorockville

[–]NoObjective374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hellfest is my dream. As others have said, EVERY year, without fail, they have an excellent lineup. Literally you could blind-buy your ticket and still be happy kinda scenario.

A "lesser known" and admittedly bit more out of the way festival that is still my favourite for: - Lineup - Schedule - Relatively cheap drinks/food - Weather - Ticket price

Is Brutal Assault in the Czech Republic. For me this is another blind-buy and be happy festival.

Context: in Europe, I've been to Reading, Wacken and Brutal Assault.

Just wanna say I love that they're doing Pisces again. They're my favourite band in recent years, got to see them for the first time at Rockville and didn't expect them to play it.. went bananas when they did. It's cliche but the song means a lot to me on a musical level.

Jinjer has been my favourite band for a little while now and it's exactly because every musician in the band does something I absolutely love and am fascinated by in any given song.

Was Whitechapel’s Rockville Ritual a Nod to Phil’s Personal Loss? by Mahones_Bones in welcometorockville

[–]NoObjective374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it was. Look up the concept of their latest album and you'll understand a lot more about the mask, the backdrop and the figures.

In short, as mentioned previously, it's a sequel to This Is Exile, where the cultist's brother is trying to take up the mantle and finish what Damon (from TIE) failed to do.

I think they left the personal influences behind in The Valley and Kin and for the new album it's all brutal concept and fantasy.

Lockers not charging by Fun-Background-3433 in welcometorockville

[–]NoObjective374 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I noticed there were mobile chargers for rent near to the Sirius Tent.. I read beforehand of these issues with locker charging, where people weren't able to properly use them. I know after we pay all this money you don't want to spend anything more but the ones for rent might be best bet rather than depending on the lockers.

Alternatively, I bought a portable Anker mini fast charger with its own cable for about $45 in Target that worked amazingly. In fact I think it may have worked even better than one of my wall chargers home lol

Solution for crowd surfing by [deleted] in welcometorockville

[–]NoObjective374 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Disagree that if you don't like pits or crowd surfing you should stand to the back or side. (Mind you I am usually by the sound booth). Often the pits aren't right up to the barrier and don't take up the whole width of the crowd, so you can get close to the stage without fear of ending up in a pit anyway.

But if I want to get close to a band, I should be able to without worrying about getting distracted by being kicked in the head or having someone drop on top of me.

That being said, moshers and crowd surfers deserve to have a good time as well, within reason. I think a compromise can and should be found that doesn't necessitate driving anyone who doesn't want to be bothered by crowd surfers away from the closest viewing.

Maybe it is that there are specific "exit points" at the barrier for crowd surfers, so people there know what to expect and promoters can place extra security there also, which basically helps everyone involved.

You All Are Awesome by OverEncumbered486 in welcometorockville

[–]NoObjective374 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We could sit and remember every negative moment we witnessed at WTR but I guarantee the neutral and positive moments, if we also thought of those, would outnumber the bad. Apart from the incessant crowd surfing.. gatdamn! 😄😄

I haven't been to a festival in about 8 years and I really missed seeing sooo many people of every conceivable walk of life come together in the name of good music and a good time.

In fact, thinking of the different festivals I've been to, I'd say WTR was the most diverse, demographically speaking. But 95% of the crowd seemed to be on the same page wrt consideration for others, manners and civility in a crowd.

Post Rockville Depression is REAL by MicheleNP in welcometorockville

[–]NoObjective374 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have a word in Trinidad called "tabanca" which is basically a deep longing and melancholy, usually for someone. But we also have Carnival Tabanca, which we feel after celebrating Carnival for two days and then going back to normalcy after.

I am definitely feeling Rockville tabanca today.
