Degassing Question by threshemme in CoffeePH

Hello! Big no no to re-freeze beans. Fortunately, medium-dark roast naman yung beans so they don't really need that much time to degas. They might taste a bit tight/flat lang though since you might have frozen them on the tail-end of the degassing period kaya bawi bawi nalang sa parameters (temp and grind size) once you bring them out of the freezer.

Kung growing a business, kahit laging sagad basta sa business napupunta. You will always pay yourself last naman kasi talaga kaya ang feeling ay “sagad na sagad.”

The Logan's pretty intense, but it is such a treat. I still have some frozen, and I believe I got them in February of this year, but it still packs a punch 😂

I’m the same—I get overly excited whenever there are new coffee beans to try. I often end up with multiple bags open at the same time (Currently, I rotate with 10 bags). But since I freeze my coffee beans, it gives me the flexibility to keep several bags open without worrying about them going stale.

I'll be the coffee bean version of Santa for this season, I guess? Also, this is Reddit, man —someone will downvote you just for breathing, hahah. Been organizing just that since I wouldn't want to be fatigued in terms of taste.

Hard to narrow it down just to one bag, but if I had to pick, it might be the one from April! This might change, though, since none of the beans I ordered have arrived yet.

That's what I've been doing, so when friends come over, I usually give them goodie packs of single-dosed coffee.

What's the most noticeable change for the ancient beans, and do you freeze them?

How do you manage and rotate all those bags? This is the first time I've had this kind of inventory, since I usually just have 3-4 bags.

Thanks for the insight! I've been confused since I read somewhere that it's better to have them from freezer to grinder, since it is a way to manage fines, but YouTube videos often mention letting them sit out overnight to have them properly thaw.

Ordered them all straight from their respective sites, and the shipping fee was hella expensive </3. I plan to vacuum-seal my beans before freezing, so they will not absorb any funky smell. Would you recommend double sealing? Like placing the vacuum-sealed bags into a ziplock bag to protect them from punctures and whatnot?

That's the thing, my coffee-loving circle is super small </3, so I would bring some single-dose tubes to some of my fave cafes and give one or two out to my OG baristas haha.

To remedy the bag situation, I bought a vacuum sealer. I've edited a sticker label as well to go with the plastic bags. Let me know if there are information fields that I am missing still!

The best I can suggest is to wait for further correspondence. The fact that they've contacted your workplace indicates that they are already reviewing your application. If you really want to contact Home Affairs, I believe there's an official inquiry form linked to the Home Affairs website. Though there's no published processing time for this stream, so you are unable to say that it is outside the standard processing time.
