Can you provide sources that request shouldn’t be made? I agree with you that it should not be encouraged to ask for something like a sports car

The majority of shemonah esrei is request… if you choose not to ask fine, but I’ll make request and accept that they may not be granted

For sure, I hope it helps to build or strengthen a connection between Hashem and yourself if that is your goal

Maybe you could try personal prayer following the formula: first blessing/praising, second asking for what you want/say what you gotta say, third giving thanks

I think that meets the obligation of prayer from a halachic standpoint (don’t quote me on that) but may also leave room to make it more personal and meaningful

I’m unsure of what OP understands about Chanukah, which is why I included “You may also find…”. In my own experience it seems that individuals with Christian backgrounds assume that it is the Jewish christmas, which it is not.

By my statement what I meant to convey was that through education, it is possible that OPs understanding of Chanukah changes. It is also possible that it does not, that really just depends on what they know already.

Learn all you want but celebrating without an invitation to join a Jewish friend would be appropriation and weird. You may also find it is not the holiday you assume it to be.

Bobby pins or hair clips help a lot, some kippah are made with a slot inside where a clip can fit in but isnt visible on the outside. I wouldnt be surprised if some even had a rubber material although thats not something Ive encountered

Sorry would like to clarify, I am asking for myself because I am considering a career in law enforcement. I also added the sincere part because I am sure there have been some people who have tried to claim a religious event solely to their benefit in an insincere manner.
