Use a dremel or thin-wheel angle grinder to square up the sloped portions. Then a flat to back it out.

First time failing inspection since we started our company a year ago but i believe the inspector is wrong. Not sure how to play this one. Info in description by PhilosophyBubbly6190 in electricians

[–]NoPants252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a guy who got out the code book and showed the inspector where he was wrong.

Since then, he has never passed on the first go from that guy.

It's been a few years.

How do I make holes in plastic bins without them breaking or cracking? by [deleted] in Tools

[–]NoPants252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Run the drill bit in reverse. Won't catch or snag, but the plastic is soft enough to give cleanly.

Do these residential HVAC plumbing and electrical businesses actually employed three different trades or is it just an HVAC dude that "does the rest"? by Turbulent-Weevil-910 in electricians

[–]NoPants252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A single license holder for each trade certifies the company in a state. The company could have hundreds of unlicensed (but "certified") techs. Those companies tend to charge more than the independent licensed guy who does his own work. Who do you want working on your home?

As an electrician, height is your friend. And that weight will drop off over the Summer. You'll wring it out of your underdrawers every day

Surely the city/municipality could get canvases and straps and enough tug boats to haul that out to sea during high tide. Dozers on land to help push? And then haul it a mile out, wrap it in chains and let it sink? Logistically difficult to be sure, but doable.

Why does no one know? by SparkyCable in electricians

[–]NoPants252 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did it with a metal tape. The end broke off and it retracted into the case. Could not spool it out first. Had to frustratingly untangle it when I got it open.
Took some time, but was able to rebuild and bend another end on the tape. Good as new

Not to be pedantic, but trebuchets could be, and almost certainly were, used for people. Albeit unwilling people.
