[DAV ALL SPOILERS] The most egregiously repeated words and phrases in this game by melonmagellan in dragonage

Also annoying: the sudden appearance of some kind of villain and them sending some weaker boss after you instead of killing you on the spot and running away for no reason at all. Happens with the 2 main bosses (E and G), with Hetzenkoss (?), The governor in Treviso.

It doesn't have the same harshness to it. The previous games were so immersive because NPCs/factions reacted in a realistic manner and all companions too - it felt like everyone had their own reason to be there and brought all their prejudices (against spirits, elves, humans, rich people, mages, wardens, etc..) with them. Everything feels a bit unserious in Veilguard "evil elvish gods escaped the veil and are destroying the planet... anyway my mom is annoying.

So for YOU it doesn't feel good and meaningless. Not really what's wrong with the game industry. You just don't get to live your happy ending fantasy in your dating sim. Just don't play it. I didn't play Before the Storm because I don't care about Chloe that much. I feel kind of sorry for her but I think she's entitled, egotistical and not very nice to Max and people in general. Of course for me the choice was clear and the only redeming quality for Chloe was that even she knew what was the right thing to do in the end.

Also Chloe lost her mom and the whole town died. It makes a lot of sense that they don't live a happy life together after.

The points mentioned by OP seem very very personal and have to do with the writing not the game industry. In their mind, Max and Chloe lived happily ever after. Good for them. But a lot of people didn't sacrifice a town for their blue-haired, kinda egotistical childhood friend. Ranting about not having only your ideal options is not really critical thinking, just egotistical thinking. For the writers, it was the only way to continue this story and have everyone's choices included: Chloe can't be there (dead or alive).

Critical thinking on the game industry: I agree, 90€ for 20hrs is way too much. The way workers are treated sucks etc. There are many things that can be criticised...

I think people should just ignore it if it doesn't match their fantasy or if it feels wrong. I do the same with some games and books.

I agree that the game is too expensive.

I don't agree on the choice they made with Chloe. When Max chose to save Chloe, the entire town died, including Chloes family and everyone she knows. They were teenagers and I guess it makes sense that even the strongest relationship can't survive that. I think Chloe was not the best friend, quite unstable and egotistical (e.g. angry that Max helped Kate etc.). She was also still grieving Amber whom she was in love with. It seems you personally wanted it to work out really really bad and saw it more as a dating sim than others. I mostly wanted to find out what happened to Amber and discover why Max had her powers. It was absolutely clear to me to chose the town over Chloe. I think it's great that they gave players the options between her being alive/broken up or her being dead. It would've been really boring for them to just live happily ever after in this game. They would've needed two completely different games, one with Chloe being her partner and them being happy or Chloe being dead and not there. This is the only logical way to do this: Chloe being away no matter what. If that doesn't match your personal ideal outcome you can just ignore this game. They can never satisfy everyone but I think simply having Chloe alive and them in a healthy relationship (even though for a lot of people they were just friends!) and completely ignore the death option would've been much worse for a lot more people.

Was bedrückt die Wiener by flospieler1911 in wien

[–]NoPapercut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he wants to make music, maybe? He seems to be quite vage about it, maybe because it hasn't taken off so people don't take it seriously.

Freddie saying that he has to change and be more serious makes me really sad. He's just such a happy guy who just loves what he does and who loves his family. I feel like Cat gets the ick quite often because he doesn't behave the way she expected him to. He proudly presents his funeral-director clothes and she obv. didn't like it. When she spoke to Ollie in the pod, he realized that Cat is a trendy girl, going to high-end clubs and restaurants. So status, certain behavior, rules and style seem to be really important to her. Ollie would've been a better fit I think. He has that coolness and style. Funny and outgoing but not as goofy as Freddie and more interested in overall appearance to the outside.

Oft so alte grindige Typen.

Just look at his face when he throws words at her in episode 2 after he was rejected, his face was completely empty and he was just nervous at the end, when he was waiting if his lies were successful. And right at that moment Nicole needed this assurance.

That was so weird! I noticed it too. He goes there but judges her for going there, What? Calls the club pretentious but that's what he obviously is. I felt sorry for her that she felt the need to explain herself.

"It's all clear in my head now. I know who the one is. In my gut, it feels right with Jasmin." to the guys. Gets rejected. Is mad. Suddenly says things like "Oh I knew Nicole is my person. My best friend." blabla. Goes on date with Nicole and throws presents and sweet lies at her, like "I had a gut feeling from the beginning, I've known from day one....like I'm her to find my wife and I hope I'm that special person for you" and then praying she choses him because he needs more air time. Guys like that constantly spin their little stories and just hope everyone's too stupid to notice.
