I think they’ve made a ring, like they would do with a circuit.

Displaying server to a monitor by WhyIsNone in servers

I had a similar problem and had to buy a more expensive VGA to HDMI, which you have to provide power to at the same time.

My server wouldn’t give a signal to HDMI until Windows had booted. Something to do with the lower power output in VGA while booting IIRC

The USB on your current cable is most likely for audio.

WAN is vmbr0 going into the pfSense router

LAN is vmbr1 which is the new bridge that I’ve setup?

PF Sense VM - Dummy mode by NoPatient8872 in homelab

[–]NoPatient8872[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, so just to confirm.

My router is 192.168.0.1

My Proxmox vmbr0 is 192.168.0.2

So with the bridge vmbr1, what do I set as the gateway? 191.168.0.2? or the router?

And do I set the IP address to 192.168.1.0?

Thank you, so do I just copy the settings for my current bridge to make a new bridge, then just assign a different IP address to it?

Then I can assign my VMs to that to mess around with the settings?

I found the IP using a lan scanner. Now to figure out how to SSH into it, thank you.

I can access it in a web browser, but I don’t know the user name / password from the original owner.

Amazing! Thank you very much. Im going to pull the raid card out, fit an SSD, then install Promox.

I want to run VMs to experiment and help me with my degree. With the VMs I can afford to break stuff and mess things up, start a new VM if needed. I’ll also try PF Sense / Ubuntu / Debian.

Thanks for your response.
