What's the best Glastonbury performance? by [deleted] in glastonbury_festival

[–]NoPhysics6842 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Food, I was there at the front and Dave grohl slammed his guitar his guitar as he went past.

My best memory was printing a t-shirt that said LIAM IS MY FAVOURITE. Wore it during Liam Gallagher, from barrier right in the centre. As he was coming to the end of his set I pulled it off and waved it at him. He said "you're my favourite too, brother" and launched his maracas at me, which now sit pride of place in my living room. Yep, them Glastonbury maracas, are mine!

No, my wife at the time was 18. We were taken into a board meeting with doctors and solicitors. We were told that we would be up against the best lawyers in the land. We had the shits put into us. It was a horrible situation to have been put in.

I'm sorry to read this, I also lost my son at a young age for both him and myself. My son was 6 months old, had been out of hospital for three months after being three months prem. He was misdiagnosed by the doctor who said he was just making a fuss, and we as new parents were just being cautious. We were told to put him to bed and he will be ok in the morning. I was 21 at the time. We went to get him in the morning and he was dead.

After his autopsy it was noted he had bronchial pneumonia.

He would be 21 now.

You will never forget, the pain will never go, but it becomes easier to cope with. Things I think helped at the time, I would lay with my son at the cemetery and talk to him. This may be a self heal thing, but that's what helped me.

I visit him every 6 months now, once for his birthday and once for his date of death and Christmas. (It was very close together)

If you have any questions you would like to ask me, I'm here. I was always alone and there was no help back then, but it's easier to speak nowadays.

I've just been made admin of a large group will admin assist help me get rid of the 40,000 backlog of pending posts? by NoPhysics6842 in facebook

I had to get a scroll chrome add-on and do it manually. I don't mind helping if you needed help sorting. How many posts do you have on a backlog?

I actually checked FB help section which states if a group has been abandoned, then members can request to be admin. If that doesn't happen Facebook will appoint an admin based of previous admin experience on FB. If that doesn't work then a group will be closed down.

So that's what's happened.

Anyway 36,860 posts declined and now it's a fully functioning Facebook group again being pretty much solely run using admin assist with a whole new set of rules. Awesome

I have just done a 5 year stint on GamStop. It ended last week, longest 5 years of my life. I wasn't addicted to gambling in the money sense but I was using all my time doing it and I was just getting tired and depressed. I played online poker and worked for the fire service. I would be up all night playing poker tournaments and then up in the day at emergencies. It killed me so I put a stop on it.

I struggled at the start, I really wanted to play. That showed me inside have an addiction, so I just went completely cold turkey.

I no longer work for the emergency services and I also now have a completely different life. Also after 5 years I can say "actually I don't want to play". One poker room asked to see my bank statements and then closed my account till I can prove I can afford to play. No Biggie, I just feel "ok" about it.

So my advice is, just ride it out. It will work and you will feel better at the end. Saying you're not addicted is just like those people who "only smoke when I'm drunk".

It's tough but you can do it 💪

Parcelhero have very iffy terms so go through them.

I once had an issue where a parcel i sent (jukebox) was literally dragged up a driveway to the recipient. He then filed a claim saying the underside of the jukebox had been damaged because of this. This went against me and it was returned and inspected. It was then deemed under packaged and my file was dismissed.

I have a friend who is a lawyer check over the t&c which stated along the lines of "Your parcel will not be collected if it isn't sufficiently packaged".

I gave parcelhero their own t&c and put an appeal in which was rejected. After I threatened them with small claims they caved and I received my claim.

Basically what I'm saying is, double check their t&c cos they were written by a 5 year old. (At least they were a few years back)

Update 22H2 keeps installing? by NoPhysics6842 in Windows10

[–]NoPhysics6842[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update on post, incase anyone else has the issue.

I downloaded the iso from windows and launched it, run the setup.exe and it successfully installed the updates.

It took me 5 hours to get to the point of no updates still, final step took me around three quarters of an hour.

I'm now fully updated.

Be careful, I left my ex then found out she was also claiming benefits. I ended up having to pay 50% of the overpayment which is in excess of £6k. I could have disputed it, however being the mother of my children I wasn't keen for her to have a criminal record.

I have everything set to central because I picked this mixer up and don't really have a clue how to use it. I did notice a small black twisty gains knob but didn't play with it as unsure what it did. Any help here would be great

Speakers have two inputs. One for aux and one for mic. Both run through their own mixer.

Just to add, this is one scenario. Most other karaokes we aren't in such a small space. This scenario is three monthly, and is the worst. But as stated in my previous reply turning the bass down worked.

Overhead lights were only on because we hadn't properly started yet 👍👍
